These shoes are really comfortable if you are walking and on your feet throughout the day. I have wide feet for a woman and I went a half size down from my true size because this shoe runs a little long. Other than that, going a half size down fits perfectly. They are not as firm and heavy as a shoe like the Nike Air Max, but they still provide a fair amount of stability and support. I definitely recommend this shoe for active people and I personally plan on buying another pair when this one gets old. ... show more

this may just be because of my preference but i think this style fits a little weird. i originally bought an 8, it was huge on me to the point my foot slipped out of the heel. repurchased in a 7.5, they fit tight. how? i do think they’re starting to loosen up as i wear them and they are still pretty comfortable regardless but i can’t get over the size difference in just a half size. overall great shoes and great quality, super comfortable to wear out to run errands ... show more

My third pair of 990's over the past 12 years. The last well-worn pair relegated to yard work duty, and still dependably serviceable. Expensive shoe, but well made, sturdy, roomy toe box, and comfortable from the get-go. Not necessarily important, but good-looking shoe, too.

I've bought this shoe for years and years. They were great. They fit well and didn't look clunky. Then they redesigned them, elongating the toe so that my feet now look like boats in them. In addition, I've only been wearing these for a month and a half and the trim edge is already fraying. What a disappointment.
