I work for USPS and these shoes were great while I had them with some very minor issues. This will be my 2nd pair. They wore down to almost nothing at just under the year mark. The foam sole retained most of its properties but I could definitely tell the foam wasn't as reactive around the 6 month mark and I was starting to feel the ground more. There isn't much for support. These are extremely lightweight and comfortable but your feet will warm up quick in direct sunlight because of the material that the upper is made of, although they do breath well. It looks like New Balance has stopped producing the New Balance Men's Fresh Foam Slip Resistant 806 V1 Industrial Shoe or are planning on coming out with a newer version so whatever is available is most likely all that's left I'd assume. New Balance has the Fresh Foam Arishi v4sr as a similar alternative. I also ordered those directly through New Balance as I like to have at least 2 pair of sneakers to switch up. Overall the New Balance Men's Fresh Foam Slip Resistant 806 V1 Industrial Shoe is a great shoe if you're going to be relatively active for work. I'd probably not suggest these for a restaurant setting honestly. As they do breath well, I'd imagine water and oils would seep in easily and create a problem. I'd rather give these 3.5 stars just because of the issues I experienced. Worth the price of $79.99 as of this review on 06/01/2023.

My husband works 70 hours a week as a cook on his feet so he was looking for a shoe that wouldn’t hurt his feet, slip resistant, long lasting, and water proof. The only thing we don’t know about is how long they will last as he’s only had them for a few weeks but so far so good. Everything else about them is great! He usually wears a size 14 but had to go up to a size 15 for these particular shoes

I normally wear a 10 wide, so I ordered a 10.5 wide, lengthwise it was OK but way too tight width-wise. Returned for a X-wide. These shoes seem to run at least a 1/2 size small and are very narrow. So "wide" is normal width and if you need a wide, order x-wide. They are very lightweight. The sole is a fairly rugged industrial firm plastic/ rubber with an aggressive tread pattern, grip is good even on wet and oily surfaces (commercial kitchen). The upper is man made, no natural materials anywhere. Has a dimpled appearance but is solid, not perforated so they are spill proof, probably not "water-proof". The material is very thin and flexible but also very strong, some type of industrial vinyl reinforced by fiber. There is very little if any stretch or flex in the upper material. Very little cushioning or support under your foot, the liners feel thin and very firm. The arch support is OK but not great. So if you're using these as work shoes, plan on getting some good firm cushioned insoles and maybe size up even more to make room for them. No idea on how long they'll last, if they fail early I'll update this review.

great shoes as per new balance expectations. when compared to their other non-slip/industrial shoe selections, these have a narrower toe box than a majority of the others. this can be a bit a bit of an issue if you have a bigger 2nd toe as it can leave the shoe a tad too small. if this is the case with my fellow buyers, i'd recommend you by a half size up since breaking in wont be of much help

I've been wearing the 510v5 for the last 6 years, and was ready for something new. This shoe is a very good shoe after 2 full weeks of wear. It's very easy to wipe clean, and has a short break in, which I wasn't expecting as the 510 never needed a break in. I usually wear a 2E but these feel tight for a 2e, which is a first. Usually new balance are plenty wide for me. The insole cushions but is not "plush". The slip restance is fine. The shoes for crews branded New Balance are better. Over all this is going to be my new go work shoe
