  • This is not a running shoe.
Size: 11.5 X-Wide Color: Light Aluminum/Cobalt
I agree with the other reviewers who commented this is not a true "running". It is incredibly light, which is nice, but what is sacrificed is cushion and stability. Have used the 940V series for years, but wanted to try less expensive....you get what you pay for. The shoe size does run small as others have commented and I had to return my first order of 11.5 4E for a 12 2E. I am a low mileage, 10 miles/wk, 67 yr old jogger. The 680's were quickly wearing at 4 weeks. Maybe good for short interval training, but not for any distance training. No more running for me with these shoes: will use for casual wear. FYI: I was informed later about New Balance's number codes for their shoes. The first number represents cushioning: ie 940 more than 680. (I believe the 1040s have the most cushioning) The next 2 numbers reflect stability, but in reverse order: 40 has more stability than 80. (Ask New Balance about that system.) My knees and feet need the 940 or better. ... show more

  • If you are sitting there thinking about it, DON'T..... Take massive action and just buy it!!
From the very 1st second and after my foot wanted to give me a hug for finding and buying one of the best and most comfortable shoes ever in history. I have had 3 shoes that fit perfectly like a glove in the last 40 years and I can put this on the list of the best shoes ever owned. I got these tonight and went to a store to buy something and the entire time I was out, I didn't even notice or even feel the thought of, " Oh my feet will adjust to them in about a weeks time." Nope, how about 1 second to fit just fine, how does that sound?? I don't write too many reviews and we all write reviews if we love them or if we hate them. Usually if the product you buy is just okay, it's hard to just go out and spend time to write a review as time is valuable. One more thing, I can assure you that you will love this shoe. I bought the 8.5 Wide and thought that fit okay, I gave that to another family member and they love their shoe as well. I needed to step up and get another but the actual size that I always get and that is a 9. Thank you for reading this review and thank you New Balance for making a wonderful shoe that will be used with joy. ... show more

  • Great shoe.
I am a nurse and I was looking for a new pair of work shoes. I got this shoe when it was a deal of the day so I was kind of worried! But they are sooooo comfortable and fit great. I am a new fan of New Balances. Definitely a great shoe.

  • Toe Busters
Size: 9.5 X-Wide Color: Pigment/Rgb Green
Opened the shoebox and found good looking shoes. Their shape and flexible material accommodate my feet perfectly. Next day I went out for a little jogging. After a couple miles I felt my toes hurting and stopped running. For whatever the reason my toes were keep smashing the front part of the shoes when running. If not running they fit fine. After careful running and paying attention to what was going on, I realized that the shoes were making my feet to slide from the insole. It never happened to me before with other New Balance shoes that I ever purchased. So I am using the shoes for casual walk, not for running. Therefore, I DO NOT recommend the shoes for running. ... show more

  • Excellent shoes
Size: 10 X-Wide Color: White/Black
Caution! These shoes run 1/2 size small. I ordered a 9 1/2 4E and they were too small. I sent them back and ordered a 10 4E and they fit perfect. I like these shoes so much that I am buying a second pair. Like all running shoes, regardless of manufacturer, they will stop making them after a few weeks and you will never see them again. So, if you like the shoes really well, you had better buy two or three pairs. It doesn't matter how well they sell or how popular they are, they will stop making them. It seems to me to be a stupid marketing strategy. ... show more

  • it's like they skimped on the padding
not sure about these they kind of hurt my feet but maybe I'll try them for a week or two. The padding in the middle and toward the toe's feels non existant and I wear a size 11 and their very snug. They look cool as can be and that's the part that blo's, wish they were more comfortable but I do weigh 265lbs and maybe these are for little guys. This is my tenth pair of sneakers though I collect and they are my most uncomfortable buy and try is all I can say someone else might have a different opinion. They look beautiful as I said. I just expected a little more comfort from NB. ... show more

  • Size all over the place, this tends to run small
Nice shoes for the price but the sizing is pretty off. My husband wears high-end Allen Edmonds shoe size 11 but recently bought size 11 1/2 New Balance 990v5 at a local retail store and paid near two hundred bucks after looking around for a whiles for comfortable NB sneakers. I tried the women's NB 680v6 through Amazon on a sale and found them comfortable at half size bigger than normal so I convinced my husband to try the men's given the easy return under Amazon. I initially ordered the size 11.5 for my husband but they were way too tight with his toes protruding out in the front! I then ordered size 12 and they fit him but they were on the tighter side but snug and nice enough to keep the pair for the price and we didn't want to gamble on 12 1/2. He has never worn a size 12 before so you may want to account for manufacturing inconsistencies to err on the larger size under this model. I say for "the model" because my husband and I tried several shoes at New Balance store, and some ran really large or very tight depending on the shoe model, some with severe size gaps/jumps between half sizes. Otherwise, the shoes look nice and lighter than 990v5 shown under the photo in comparison. You can clearly see that the 11.5 navy 990v5 at the bottom is larger than the size 12 black 680v5! ... show more

  • Foot size is 7.5 EEE
I still have a pair of New Balance USA size 7.5-EEEE (my 'dress sneaks'). My doctor said I needed them to alleviate my plantar fasciitis. And they did, but they cost around 150 bucks, several years ago. After our pup ate a couple pairs and after my son recommended, with excellent results, Superfeet sole inserts, I started buying New Balance (made overseas) at a popular chain sporting goods store. Curiously, the shoes made overseas were smaller so I had to go to a larger size, size 8-EEEE. This worked out pretty good for a couple of years and I started getting similar shoes from Amazon. Then I moved to Hawaii (big island) and somehow the size 8-EEEE became too small. And retail choices got (inverse) exponentially smaller. Then I saw these shoes 'on sale.' I went up another half size to 8.5-EEEE, expecting to swim in them. But to my pleasant surprise they fit pretty well. ... show more
