I suffer from plantar faciitis, and ordered these to wear with business casual attire at work. They are obviously not dress shoes, but they look fine with khakis and a sweater. They run small - I had to return one pair and order 1/2 size larger. I was a little nervous because they seem kind of stiff when putting them on, and they squeak a lot when I walk. As with many athletic shoes these days, the insole is not glued in, so it was easy to remove to put my insoles in. They look good and are comfortable after a couple of days wearing. Will update the review after they're more broken in. UPDATE 1/24/2018: I've worn these shoes a lot over the past two weeks. They are still comfortable and look good. However, they still squeak a lot when I walk. UPDATE 3/16/21018: The squeaking has not improved, but I'm having fun using it to slowly drive my co-workers insane.

I had foot surgery and the Doc told me to only buy New Balance walkers. I have worn out numerous pairs so I was excited to try this new one. It fits fine and my foot is comfortable, but the damned thing squeaks like clown shoes. I weigh near 300 pounds, but I've never had a pair of NB shoes squeak! To make matters worse, I work in the US Capitol where there are marble walls, tiled floors, and arched ceilings. I wore them to work once and only once!! It sounded like a Clown parade was taking a tour. The shoes turned heads everywhere I walked and entertained hundreds of visitors. Thanks NB!!! I will NOT be buying this model again! So embarrased!!

This is the second pair i returned due to the inside left foot tongue has extra material and bunches up on top of the foot and hurt. I have been wearing New Balance 577 Black shoes for over 10 years. This past year the quality has been very bad. All together i have returned 4 pair due to the same issue. I started having this issue about 14 months ago. New Balance much have a new manufacturer or something. I will have to think about finding a different shoe. Doubt it will be New Balance. Will have to see. Very disappointed lately. I actually love the shoe. I actually wear them all day every day. Needed to change the number of stars I gave it. Sorry for the confusion

The shoes fit well and are very comfortable. However, I only give it 4 stars because nowhere in the shoes, tags, box, or accompanying documentation does it reiterate that this is made of 100% leather as promised on the website description. When I asked about this, I was REPEATEDLY told that this pair of shoes is "Assembled in the USA in an American factory" but this was not my question. Is this shoe 100% leather or not? To me, the upper material appears to be some type of composite, and that's okay, but truth in advertising demands more honest disclosure. Other than that, I am happy with the fit and the shoes are pretty comfortable.

HI , I have recieved in march new balance shoes mw 557 2w . i am wearing them regulary since and they feel comfortable to me. in the right show the ieather has torn apart near the connection to the solia and near the shoe lacer the seam were unrevealed. The shoes can`t be used . iam requesting to send me a mew same shoe and to make shure that i would be able to wear them without raptures and tears for at least a year. amnon goldberg shlom alecem 17 rishon le zion isreal Hi Amazon. Very happy with these shoes. I'm told they look like "old man's shoes" but I don't think so. To be honest I don't even know what that means. I like the fact they are mono-black. I really needed a new pair of shoes after my foot surgery. I shattered my left heel and really needed shoes that had more padding in the heel. These shoes definitely do! The option to order these in a wide size was also a factor in my purchase as well. I am very happy with these shoes and I can relax somewhat when walking because I'm confident I have the cushioning I need! If you've had any type of foot surgery I highly recommend them. I've seen some reviews that state the sizing was off but mine fit perfectly ordering the size I usually order.

I used to have before 2-3 pairs from New Balance, the first one was actually manufactured in China. All old models were perfect. I had wear them more than 5 years, the first pair actually 10 years. And all of them were comfortable and really long live shoes. However, with this model during the first year I have problem. First of all it is same time doesn't allow to any air go inside, so my foots are not breathing, and at the same time it is leaking. Just a little bit rain my foots are nass. Plus just after 9-10 months both two shoes broke on nose side. I think it is my last item fron New Balance, should find some new brand :((((

My shoe size differs slightly from one manufacturer to another and one style to another. My actually shoe size is 13EEE but that size wasn't available so I took a gamble and got size 14EEEE. Since this is an internet transaction, I thought it would be better safe than sorry and get a larger size. I used these shoes for nursing school and MANNN, these things got me through the 12-HOUR clinicals! I'm a big guy, 6'-2", 275lb and my feet were loving the cushion on these shoes! I even bought Superfeet insole inserts but never needed them because these were super comfy! I had a classmate refer me to some Skechers but they were too narrow. Unfortunately for him, his feet hurt with the Skechers. So I recommended these to him. Our nursing school required the clinical shoes to be all white and, solid (non-meshed) and these New Balance shoes fit the bill! For $63 (plus tax), these shoes are awesome!
