I have a pair of the New Balance Fresh Foam V4 More shoes and they are great. But the V5’s are even better. Background story: I wanted to lose some weight by running on my treadmill and lifting some weights. But I developed plantar fasciitis (inflammation in my right foot) and I simply could not run at all. Then I bought the New Balance Fresh Foam V4 More shoes and they are so wonderfully cushioned I could run again! I lost 42 pounds (and my goal was only 20 pounds). The V4’s are great but they’re not perfect. Enter the New Balance Fresh Foam V5 More shoes!! Heaven. They are even more cushioned and more comfortable than the V4’s. The “tongue” doesn’t bunch up or move to the side like the V4’s tongue tends to do while running. And finally, the fit is perfect…almost like a custom shoe…at least for my feet. I have never had a more cushioned and comfortable shoe in my life! Honestly, the V4 changed my life and the V5 made my life even better. I have no clue how accurate my smart-scale is regarding how healthy I have become but it says I shaved seven years off my metabolic age. I would take that claim with a grain of salt. A few things that are absolutely true…I am far healthier than I was before, I actually enjoy running again, and my love handles have been sent to the blubber graveyard. Oh, one more thing….every time I see a woman from age 25 to 96….they invariably give me their phone number while simultaneously saying , “Nice shoes, Ramrod….and even nicer slim and trim body”! Okay, I made that last part up, but everything else in this review is 100% accurate!! Get the V5’s….especially, if you’re suffering from any type of manageable foot pain and still want to jog/run….or simply want a perfectly cushioned shoe. Side note: I have two relatives who have bought the V4’s and V5’s just for the cushioning. They use them exclusively as every day “around the house” and walking shoes ….and love them.     • Great max cushion trainers for recovery day

I'm a runner. A day after a hard run I like to go for long slow jogs in max cushion shoes where I just get my legs moving and run at a slower pace. I just finished a 7 miler @ 8:45 min pace and feel fantastic. I have about 20 miles on these shoes now in 3 or 4 workouts; all recovery miles. I can say that I'm a huge fan. I definitely get a blister on my inner arch because the cush of the shoes has your heel and plantar sink in so you can get rub on that inner arch but I'm still giving 5 stars because blisters are unavoidable for every foot. I am sure I'll get over the blisters if I let my feet fully heal between runs. Aside from comfort, the best thing about these shoes is the stability; the 1080v13 felt VERY unstable for my poor weak wittle ankles (despite being a sub 3:20 marathoner). When I'm lazy running and just putting the miles up; these things remain squishey and stable. 5/5. ... show more

Wearing these shoes feels like walking on stilts. The sole at the heel is so high I feel like I’m falling off of them. While they’re quite comfortable, the heel is very high. I really want to like them. Trying to use them as my goto workout shoes. I feel too unstable in them. I’ll keep trying.

Perfect fit! I'm a men's 10.5 Wide (2E). If you're a wide size, order wide. Trying to just go up a half size did not work for me. I got the Brighton Grey/Calcium/Jade color. The ride is so good. I already killed my Hoka Clifton 9s, so I watched tons of reviews and tried this. Plush, plush, plush, but NOT too squishy. Perfect for nice easy runs, but the rocker helps me pick up the pace a bit when I want to. I'm a 5' 10" 198 lb neutral runner, getting back after some injury time off. The wide base of this neutral shoe provides stability, and the material quality is top notch. I've used them for a month so far, and I'm very happy. When I want to do tempo stuff, I have Endorphin Speed 4s, but this is my go-to for most runs. ... show more

I like that the shoes are extremely comfortable but the picture is misleading. The color looks more grey on Amazon but they’re more of a light stale blue color. The shoes also do run a bit small, I usually wear a 11 in women’s shoes so I order a 9.5 in men x-wide since everyone said they run small. The shoe also just says wide don’t know if there’s actually a x-wide. ... show more
