Extremely comfortable! I walk 60 to 70 miles most weeks between work and recreation. So I really like trying out different sneakers. I use to be an avid jogger. I'd compare these to the Asics Gel Nimbus. The Asics I think are maybe a bit more secure feeling. Light, very very cushioning. Great looking. Decent traction. They seem to be well built. These are the best running shoes I have ever tried - much improved over previous 1080 versions - soft but still supportive - best describe as 'springy'. And multiple widths so perfect fit. Tried other running shoe brands and other New Balance models, and this is easily best. I am not a runner but I prefer running shoes for walking and general use. These are Hoka-like in cushy-ness (Hope that’s a word). I love the big toe-box you get with New Balance. Fairly stable/secure in the heel and mid-foot. Great looking shoe.

It is the widest and most comfortable New Balance in years! They use to be wider many moons ago. These are, so far the widest shoes from them. Very comfortable, and so far it seems I have no issues. Still a little new to them. They do get a little use to, since they are very foamy and you have to learn to stand and walk, because it like walking on thick gymnastics mat and you feel all wobbly. It takes a few days but then you solid and walking is nice. I will buy again if it turns out non-issues and I update if there is. ... show more

Nice shoe out of the box but too narrow for my food in the toe box which is happening to me more recently as I get older. Unfortunately, I had to take these back and they didn't have a wide version in my size. I will say they are super cushiony and feel nice on the soles altogether. Looking for an all-black shoe to wear to work function without looking like I am heading to the gym. Chose this over Hoka Bondi 8 and Gaviota 5 and Brooks Glycerin and Ghost Max: this was just SOFTER than any of them and had the most room to accomodate orthotics (and the logos are black on black). Comparing this shoe to my previous New Balance Fresh Foam X More V4 - THAT one is definitely cushier, but I also got a SLIGHT "I am going to fall off this Jenga set" feeling (I have had them a year+, including 10 days of walking all over Europe and NEVER did fall or twist an ankle, but I never quite shook that feeling.) THIS one really feels like a better shoe, never giving me that feeling. It propels me forward while still having more cushion than anyone who has not bought a "MAX" shoe could possibly imagine.
