These New Balance Men's Fresh Foam X 1080 V13 running shoes have far exceeded my expectations and honestly are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They run small (like most New Balance shoes) so I had to size up by half a size, but the fit is perfect. I also have wide feet, and these X-wide shoes fit just right. The best part is how bouncy the Fresh Foam is--right now I'm recovering from a serious leg issue that is aggravated by shoes that have no cushion. These New Balance shoes are like walking on a cloud and absorbs foot fall impacts extremely well. I also like that these have mesh uppers so my feet stay cool. These are the best running shoes I have ever tried - much improved over previous 1080 versions - soft but still supportive - best describe as 'springy'. And multiple widths so perfect fit. Tried other running shoe brands and other New Balance models, and this is easily best. It is the widest and most comfortable New Balance in years! They use to be wider many moons ago. These are, so far the widest shoes from them. Very comfortable, and so far it seems I have no issues. Still a little new to them. They do get a little use to, since they are very foamy and you have to learn to stand and walk, because it like walking on thick gymnastics mat and you feel all wobbly. It takes a few days but then you solid and walking is nice. I will buy again if it turns out non-issues and I update if there is. ... show more

Extremely comfortable! I walk 60 to 70 miles most weeks between work and recreation. So I really like trying out different sneakers. I use to be an avid jogger. I'd compare these to the Asics Gel Nimbus. The Asics I think are maybe a bit more secure feeling. Light, very very cushioning. Great looking. Decent traction. They seem to be well built. Strange that there is no loop on the back to help put on the sneakers. Though they do slip on ok. I definitely would recommend these New Balance sneakers. ... show more

    • Nice but too narrow
Nice shoe out of the box but too narrow for my food in the toe box which is happening to me more recently as I get older. Unfortunately, I had to take these back and they didn't have a wide version in my size. I will say they are super cushiony and feel nice on the soles altogether. I did feel as if because of the high cushion I wasn't getting as solid support in the ankle. ... show more

Looking for an all-black shoe to wear to work function without looking like I am heading to the gym. Chose this over Hoka Bondi 8 and Gaviota 5 and Brooks Glycerin and Ghost Max: this was just SOFTER than any of them and had the most room to accomodate orthotics (and the logos are black on black). Comparing this shoe to my previous New Balance Fresh Foam X More V4 - THAT one is definitely cushier, but I also got a SLIGHT "I am going to fall off this Jenga set" feeling (I have had them a year+, including 10 days of walking all over Europe and NEVER did fall or twist an ankle, but I never quite shook that feeling.) THIS one really feels like a better shoe, never giving me that feeling. It propels me forward while still having more cushion than anyone who has not bought a "MAX" shoe could possibly imagine. New Balance's website says "if we only made one shoe, this would be it." Might be my shoe for life. ... show more

Pros: Extremely comfortable, soft and a lot of shock absorption. It's fairly light and breathable. It has a fair bit of bounce. If you deal with foot pain these will help as well. Cons: Unstable during lateral movements, it may take some getting use to. Might be able to tune the amount with different insoles. The laces are thin so I'm not 100% sure how long they'll last. Overall: if you're looking for a daily driver and are not doing heavy running, this is a very good option. I combined these with some gel insoles for additional support. ... show more

Size: 11 X-Wide Color: Limelight/Chrome Blue/Silver Metalic
These New Balance are very similar to the Brooks Adrenaline shoes I have. About the same look and feel when walking in them. I like the looks of the lime shoes as they're subtle and not bright neon. New Balance did a good job with this particular shoe.
