My daily walk is a lot more comfortable with strong support from these shoes. I walk anywhere from 3-5 miles a day, and these take a pounding on concrete, asphalt, gravel, etc. They have held up very well, with good support and true fit.

The right fit in a shoe encompasses everything else; comfort, fit, reliability, being the right shoe for you. This shoe is definitely the right shoe for me. I have swollen and they are so comfortable in this that wear them every day(not Diabetic, FYI). The extra width is exactly what I needed.

I purchased these shoes as a replacement for my New Balance 840s that I wore out. My 840s fit a bit narrow so ordered x wide and am glad I did. They are not too wide and are comfortable. As mentioned in another review, the support inserts were not very good so I actually reused my 840s. And that's too bad. Also as I read in other reviews the tongue is too short and the laces are way too long. So if I didn't replace the laces I would have to have double laced (see pic). Last issue is that the soles don't have the same traction as my 840s which required me to add no slip pads to my hard-plastic foot pedals on the elipical. Good shoes. The actual sole itself is more of a flat walking shoe style, but the inside still has decent arch support. I ended up adding one of the arch-support insole inserts, but even without the shoe is comfy. Good purchase, and I'll likely buy it again once I need another pair.

I've been buying New Balance shoes for decades and I've never been disappointed and these 877 V1's are no exception. The comfort and top quality are there and I'm confident that the durability will be there too, as always. However, they were described as having the USA as the "Country of Origin," but the label in the show says it's "Made in Vietnam." True, it's a minor quibble, but I try to buy American made products when I can and believing that's what I was getting is what closed the deal. No returns though.     • Not very comfortable when standing

I wear New Balance cross trainers and really like them so thought I would try these. Though they fit perfect and I loved the roomy toe box and color, they became intolerable to stand in. Walking was very comfortable but if you stopped to stand , it puts uneven pressure on your heels so not comfortable at all. I wear orthotics and found this shoe to be painful. The shoe construction itself is very good, but if you want a shoe for other then walking, I wouldn't suggest this model. I would look at a Cross Trainer like the 608 ... show more

    • Once broken in, the most comfortable walking shoe

I have metatarsalgia. I have tried every Skechers walking shoe, including every Max Cushion. The problem with Max Cushion shoes is that the cushioning deforms fast and does not stabilize the foot. These shoes are surprisingly cushioned and comfortable. And they keep my foot from eventually leaning when using an arch support. Yes, I can actually walk off pavement with these. I discovered they just needed a short break in. The weight and structure is a plus not a minus. And the width for my 15W feet is excellent. They aren't pretty, but they aren't ugly either. But why the tongue is relatively short (but adequate) and the laces so long is a mystery. Also note the reasonable price versus their more astronomical walking models. ... show more

i was looking for a casual athletic shoe for everyday wear. I took a chance and ordered these. The price was high for my needs and that's the only reason I took away one star. Otherwise they are keepers. I like the style and the gray color, the roomy toe box and the sole is flat for good stability. I can tell that they will only get better with time.
