I purchased ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 8 Running Shoes about 6 months ago but my Podiatrist told me to get rid of them and get a sneaker with more support (I had an injury a few years ago jumping off a 20 foot cliff into water where I hit a bolder after being assured the landing was deep with no obstructions). I researched and ended up buying these New Balance Men's 608 V5 Cross Trainers (the pic is right after walking dogs 2 miles in partial rain so a bit discolored where wet). These sneakers fit perfectly, are comfortable, and provide plenty of support - my walks are so much more enjoyable. I have 2 large dogs that tend to pull often during the 2 mile morning walks so fit and function is critical. Walking the dogs this morning after it rained with sprinkles still coming down proved their ability to grip. I am so happy with my purchase and only wish I had done so earlier. Years ago I bought a pair of New Balance shoes, and was so happy with them that I went back and bought another pair. The first pair lasted for a very long time, and I’ve been using the second pair for a couple of years now. When I decided to get a black sneakers, after careful shopping, New Balance again looked like the best value. Today is the first time I have worn them. So far, so good. Only time will tell if they are as durable as my other pair, but I’m optimistic. I don’t give five stars for anything short of absolute perfection, but these come close. I grade them B+. For the price these are the best XWide (4E) tennis shoes I have ever bought. I play competitive tennis 5 times a week and a pair lasts me about 3 months. I just ordered another 6 pairs because I’m afraid if they D/C them I will never find a deal as good as this.

I've tried lots of athletic shoes over the years and I keep coming back to these. They fit me perfectly and are the most comfortable, although I did change the inner cushion for a little more comfort. My husband is a walker and he has very specific request on shoes. I was skeptical of these New Balance shoes however, when they came, they were perfect. They are true to size and will hold up nicely with 6,000 to 12,000 steps a day. I would preferred the gray, however, the Brown turned out better than expected. ... show more

Felt tight out of the box and did not fit the same as my other NB shoes. This is probably due to stiffness and it did relax after wearing them for a short while. I'm on my feet for 8 hours or more for my work. I'm climbing ladders , stairs, roofs , etc. New Balance sneakers offer the most comfort for me. With my line of work I get about 6 to 8 months of good tread life before they get worn. It would be nice if new balance made a high top in this series.
