I can't believe that I just wore these shoes for the first time (got them last week) and they're falling apart. I walked less than 100 yards and the soles are coming off. The glue failed. I think these were old stock that Amazon sent me or a manufacturing defect. They looked new. Never had this problem before with New Balance shoes, even the ones I ordered from Amazon. I'm shocked. Returning for a replacement. Hope the replacements are better. 11/1 update: Give credit to Amazon. Shortly after I asked for a return, they shipped out a new pair. I got the replacement pair Sunday and am wearing them today. So far, so good. I did the same walk I did last week, and the shoe is still intact. Let's start by saying they're shoes. They don't help you make margaritas. They just let you walk comfortably. When I purchase shoes it's because the ones I've been wearing are worn out. I always wonder with new shoes if I can tie them once and them just slip them on. These shoes allow for that. Overall they fit fine and my golden retriever loves going for walks while I'm wearing these. They are a little heavier than I had hoped, coming in at about a pound and a half each. I've been wearing 574"s almost exclusively for years but tried these 608's due to ongoing foot pain and a recommendation I had read. Wish I had changed long ago. These are noticeably more substantial in support, size, weight, and comfort. I purchased another pair in a different color and will be doing so again soon. I went down half a size vs the 574's as he 608"s seem to run larger. The wide, EE, provides ample space for my widening feet. I've been wearing this model of sneaker for years. Have tried others but come back to these every time. When they get old and dirty they become the yard work shoes. I have had some tread separation on the really old yard work pair but just glued them. Last quite a long time. My last pair lasted just under 3 years. Ordered same model from Amazon. Great cross training shoe. And, the xtra wide size fits perfect on my 4E width feet. Use them 3x week for deadlifts or jump rope. Will continue to buy these as long as New Balance makes them.

This is my second pair of NB 608s. The shoe fits me very well (10.5/2E). I use the shoe more for average daily activities than walking. Though when used for walking they have been comfortable, stable and durable. I do use inserts, and have for a long time. The liner of the shoe is easily removed. My insert fits in the shoe well.
