I did not need a special shoe for running or basketball for everyday wearing. This shoe fits the bill. For my general wear, I have purchased this specific shoe many times. It is comfortable, fits well (has wider version but normal was fine for me). I have good wear on this style for years of use. Appearance is nice, with great support. Easy to put on as most do, and certainly versatile for usage in most function. Loos nice and is black. I personally like black over the standout white which looks terrible (my opinion) until they get dirtier. Shoe is lightweight and Breathable, as I do not sweat in them all day. High recommended and will continue to purchase.

FIT LIKE A GLOVE

I have been in the restaurant business since I was 14. Going from converse to basic non slips from Skechers and work croc looking things. These shoes are next level. No more tip toeing around the kitchen and no squeezing my feet in the cheapest shoes I can find. Haven’t even replaced the souls yet and already feeling less soreness in my lower back and knees. Especially since 13 Wides always costing over 100 dollars these are best bang for your buck. Amazing upgrade. Easy to glide into once you tie them up for the first time. Great material. Super light. Most def recommend.

Nice shoes but still need better insoles

I got these shoes because I needed more support and stability than the running shoes I've been buying/wearing for years, and they're great for that. They feel durable and should last a long time. Unfortunately though the insoles are ok but not great and after just a week I already had to adjust the insole shape with athletic tape because the shoe inside wasn't perfectly flat. A high quality insole might be required to make these shoes fit as they should, simply because the foot bed isn't totally flat. I usually wear normal width shoes too, but the fore-foot for the normal width was much too narrow so I had to go to the wide size. The wide size is fine in the forefoot but a bit too wide in the heel, so again I'm having to adjust the shoe to get it to feel right. They're better for walking than most other shoes I've tried recently though, so it's worth it to keep working on the insole to get a better fit.

All purpose walking shoe built to last

This is the "industrial division" version of the New Balance 608 walking shoe. Although marketed as a walking shoe, it is sturdy enough to be considered a cross-trainer. It's available in a variety of color combinations but retains a conservative look. Key features are a large wide toe box that will easily accomodate orthodics, mid-range arch support with a semi-curved last and a 10mm heel drop. The upper body is faux leather(for this style) that breaths better than real leather. The outsole cushion is a New Balance propreitary EVA bonded to carbon rubber in areas subject to wear. EVA cushion and carbon rubber outsole. I wore the USA made NB 928 walking shoes for several years before discovering this imported "clone" costing half as much as the 928. By "clone" I mean the 608 has similar features and is just as comfortable as the 928 at half the price. I am very particular about the shoes I use because I've had corrective surgery on both my feet with mixed results that necessitates a netrual shoe with an extra large toe box. New Balance refers to this shoe as its industrial version due to the non-slip outsole. The non-slip outsole is an understandment. For example, my job requires me to install a security device on packages to deter theft. For larger packages I hold the cable (about 1/16 " diameter), of the security device temporarily with my foot to falcilite installation, lifting my foot off the cable to finish the install. When I started wearing the 608's I ran into difficulty because when I lifted my foot to finish installing the cable, the cable stayed gripped to the bottom of my shoe. I had to reach down to remove the cable from the grip of my shoe. I average about 13K steps a day, seven days a week which is considered high milage use for shoes. I've been wearing the same pair of shoes for the past 14 months and finally decided its time for a new pair. The 928's I used to wear needed replacing every four months by comparison. You will not find a better constructed more durable walking shoe that retains its cushoining well beyond shoes with similar designs.

I'm so upset I'm writing this review a second time because attempting to attach an image sent me to the home page of the Amazon app, and I want to be 100% sure this is shared. After a lifetime of buying shoes from the thrift store, I splurged to buy my little brother the perfect pair of shoes. Shoes that would last him longer than the pair he wore for 15+ years. I thought that if thrift store sneakers could last him that long, some brand-new shoes Google recommended for his disabilities would last him a lifetime. So in April I bought my little brother shoes with the thrill that comes with spending more money on something than your habits say you should. Now, in August, I'm back at square one, $70 poorer and wondering how my brother is going to attend our cousin's wedding when the one pair of shoes he had just got destroyed in the washer. Not squished or ugly-looking. Completely unwearable. Soles, platforms, destroyed and unusable. This snake oil company, New Balance, is making shoes that I have recently come to find, through numerous complaint forums, use adhesive that dissolves in water and materials that shrink/warp in the wash. They are making sneakers that cannot be exposed to water or heat. I feel like a fool. I already knew to be apprehensive about purchasing from Wish or Temu, but a 60+ dollar shoe company with a 4.6 rating on Amazon that Google directed me to? I thought I was safe. If you're reading this review, you're smarter than I wish I had been. These aren't just overreacting 1-star reviews from people who don't know how to maintain their clothing long-term. Stay far away.
