I've been wearing the 577 for years now, both laced and hook-and-loop. They're exceedingly comfortable, and except for a small reflective patch on the back, they're all black, so I can wear them wherever I want to. As long as New Balance keeps selling them, I'll keep ordering them.

My last couple of pairs were Propet Mens LifeWalker. I really like those but I though I would try something different. I like New Balance from years ago, and they are an American company. These shoes are a bit loose on me. I'm 13 wide. There is A LOT of padding and it is tough tightening them down for a snug fit. I have had them about 2-weeks and they still squeak. I'm hoping in another couple of weeks I'll have them broken in, the squeaking will stop, and I can snug them up better. [edit: I have now had these shoes about 3 months. They still squeak. Also, they are physically larger than the Propet shoes I had before. I find I need to concentrate when I drive, as I can hit the break and gas at the same time.] I think I'll go back to the Propet Mens LifeWalker next time. But these are still good shoes. 9 out of 10... ... show more

These are great sneakers/walking shoes. They’re nice quality and very comfortable (they take a little bit to break in but once you have it’s all good). Worth the cost, especially if on sale.
