  • Great shoes
Gotten so many compliments on these. Very comfortable as well. Love the retro look.

  • Beautiful Color
Size: 18 Color: Burgundy/Burgundy
These shoes are a beautiful dark rich red (crimson) color. In fact, it was just a perfect color for my grandson since it's the exact color of the Alabama Crimson Tide!!! And, this is the fourth pair that I've ordered of this shoe and my grandson loves them. The price is great too. Certainly going to be more if you find them out in the store...and on line... I haven't seen a price to beat it. Of course, I had to order these in a size 18 so I really had a limited choice of different styles to pick from. But these do not lack style. If you're a New Balance fan, these are great school, or day shoes. My grandson swears they're most comfortable. All I know is that I could make a dog bed out of the shoe boxes for a size 18.... They fit, they are comfortable, they are the right price, and they look as good as, and in this case better than, the picture. On my computer they're good looking in the picture, when we got all of them, they looked even better! We were not disappointed in any aspect when we got them, we were pleasantly surprised. We have the black, the navy, the green and now the red. Would recommend these without a doubt!!! ... show more

  • Quality Shoe
I bought mine on sale and worried the quality would suffer…but wow, was I wrong. These are my new favorite everyday shoe. Not too tight in the toe, laces secure my feet but do not hurt them. No issues with slipping. Not to mention the color is so vibrant. I get So many compliments on these shoes. The insole is Great. Soft and supportive. So glad I bought them. 💛 I prefer a Womens size 11, so I bought a Mens 9 and they are perfect. ... show more

  • Great fit, inaccurate color
The shoes are great; good support and very comfortable. The size and fit are accurate. My only complaint--and it's not enough to want to return them--is simply that in the picture, they look very orange. I was looking forward to a bright orange pair of kicks. In reality, they're more of an orangy tan color or an orange-tinged sand. I guess what I'm trying to say is there's a lot more tan than I expected and not quite as much eye-popping orange as I'd hoped. But hey, they still look good and most importantly, my feet feel good in them. ... show more

  • On my second pair
Size: 9 Wide Women/7.5 Men Color: Off-white/Grey
I find these so comfy! I put in extra arch support since I have high arches, but I do that to all shoes if I can, and they have room to do that and I have used them and my tan pair to travel Europe, go to Disney World, etc. They are cute and have held up really well!

  • Comfort Is King
Fresh out the box, walked 20 miles over a long weekend in Chicago, no complaints. Comfort is king but “dad shoes” are a hard pass, so these fit the bill, will probably get them in a couple different colors.

  • Not a Classic Fit
I purchased my first pair of 574's upon completion of graduate school in '88 as a gift to myself; an avid runner and user of Asics, Brooks, and Saucony shoes. Nike's waffle shoe just didn't give me the support I needed. New Balance advertised the new 574 and I instantly fell in love with the shoes (if one can love shoes). They were high arched with a soft, but firm inner sole. The stitching was flawless and the shoes were both stylish and very comfortable that even after running 60 miles a week for six months the shoes held up. Since my first pair I've always worn New Balance and the 574 as have my wife and children. Then last year ('18) New Balance decided to make some significant changes despite the fact that the users (in opinion survey's mailed out) believed the shoes did not need improvement. (One can read about the changes on the company's website) The changes were designed to solely "improve the style and create a sleeker look." We were one of those "enthusiasts" who received the survey and categorically stated no changes were needed. Why change a good thing? New Balance's competitor's like Nike, and Adidas, copied them years ago and all running shoes today copy New Balance's original tread design but the feel of the "original" 574 is/was still unchallenged. I purchased a new pair of New Balance 574S on November 12, 2019. When the box arrived and I opened the lid I immediately saw the first noticeable difference, the slope from the top of the tongue to the tip of the toe; it is now triangular rather than curved. The inner sole is very thin and the arch support is completely removed. I wear a size 15 4E and need some space inside the shoe that allows movement. The previous 574's were ready-wearable and did not need to be worn several times to "break-in" with the new pair they felt stiff and rigid, the sole would bunch up at the heal and the tongue would slide towards my toes. After putting on both shoes I walked around my house on the wood floors and it simply was not the same pair of shoes. I went for a short run of 5 miles around the neighborhood (asphalt) and my feet were not comfortable. Disappointed, I returned the pair and started looking for old stock of the original 574s. The photo's above: the original and the new version. ... show more
