I've purchased many New Balance shoes over the years. They are typically of very good quality, especially for the price. The price of this shoe was pretty decent ($50 on sale). But the quality of the shoe feels less than others I've bought. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but the all of the materials that go into it just seem less sturdy and of less quality. The sizing also seems a bit off. I am generally a 14W person. The only thing they had in stock was 14 Extra Wide, so I rolled the dice. Thank goodness I did because they fit just right. If I went anymore narrow, I don't think they'd fit comfortably. Overall, it's a decent shoe and for the price, definitely not bad.     • A 13 X-wide shoe was sent as a 13 Wide. I sent them back -bgt a 14 X-wide!
New Balance has been a favorite of mine for years. I am a size 11 in a dress shoe but a 13 X-wide in a running shoe. NOW I have to move up to a 14 X-wide because people in foreign countries don't know what X-wide means. Amazon sent me 13 Wide (4E) and it was a struggle to put them on! I returned today and am ordering 14 X-wide and hope that fits me better! Pretty bad when we have to go up 3 sizes larger just to have a comfort fit! ... show more

The material on the sides of the first pair wore out and tore through and the soles started to separate from the uppers sooner than I'd like but I still think they are a good value. I ordered it to use it at work since I have to stand on feet for hours, it does quite a good job, however not the most comfortable running shoes I had. Plus, if you typically wear 8.5, get one size bigger
