The good: these shoes look good, which is a hard thing to find in the age of flamboyant neon sneakers. They are lightweight and comfortable, and reasonably priced. The tread is not too aggressive, and doesn't have crevices that trap pebbles or collect mud. The bad: the tread partly separated from the cushioning in the sole on the right shoe. This happened within 2 weeks. The problem did not get worse over the 6 months I wore them, so this seems like a manufacturing defect. The shoe is almost entirely mesh, which I had hoped would keep my feet cool and dry. It did neither, but it didn't make thise issues any worse. What it did do, was allow all kinds of dust and dirt into the shoe. If I walked through grass or dirt, I could feel (and later see) grime between my toes, even though I wear socks. This also made foot odor an issue, and due to the mesh construction, this was evident even while the shoes were on. Not good! I had to regularly disassemble the shoes, hand scrub the insoles and the shoes in the sink, and then launder them with bleach. This would restore freshness, but the dirt and odor would return within a week. I've had many New Balance shoes, and have been happy with all of them... except these. For occasional indoor wear, they would be passable, but you can definitely do better. ... show more
