I have been and continue to be on a quest for New Balance 624's in size 12, in black. I don't know why that model in that size and color is so hard to find, but I am either not finding them at all or finding them at ridiculopus prices. As part of this quest, I have been trying every other solid-black New Balance shoe in the hopes that I could find something available that fits my feet as well as the 624 does. To date, no complete success -- but this 411 comes the closest. I don't have access to New Balance inside information, but based on how they feel, it's as though New Balance used the design of the 624 with some combination of less-expensive materials and perhaps fewer, combined parts. The result is a 624-like feel but one knows that it's not quite a 624. However in my case, the negative that it's not quite a 624 is outweighed by the positives that it's less than half the price of a 624, and that it is actually available to be bought. i am not sure, but I believe that due to the cost-cutting done on this model's design, I'll need to order one half-size larger than what I would order for a 624 (in my case, for example, a 12.5 instead of a 12)...

My Daughters work at a Major Theme Park in Florida... They work long hours pounding pavement Daily... Other shoes Killed their Feet. It didn't help that they always try to save money buying cheaper shoes that looked Comfortable but in the end, they paid for it... They Complianed Constantly, But since I purchased these shoes for them, they are very pleased... I haven't heard one complaint about their feet hurting... They both love these shoes and are now addicted and dependent on them for Comfort from now on... These are GREAT Shoes for the Price... and the TRY BEFORE YOU BUY is Very Awesome... Do Not Pass these shoes up Folks if you work long hours on your feet and have Back pain.
