Size 11.5w true to size 5yo is 11.5w almost a double wide so we only buy New Balance. Lately the latch and hook have not been available so I purchased these instead. They're awesome! The green and gray colors are perfect together. The laces that come with them are cool, too. My son is in kindergarten and can't tie his shoes yet so I purchased a replacement pair that I could secure in place so he doesn't have to worry about tripping or asking his teacher to tie his shoes, and he says the shoes are comfortable and don't slip off while running. These shoes fit my son, who has very wide feet well! However, they come with short laces. We had to replace the laces within about 3 months because they snapped, and the mesh is pulling away from the leather at the toes as well. My 9 year daughter got these on September 28, after only 1.5 months they are worn down at the top laced area. They also developed a hole in toe, under the rubber front protection.
