I think this varies by size but the pictures show laces but no ties. We had gotten these shoes for my younger daughter (little kid size 10) at an actual store and love that they have laces but do not tie so we bought for my older daughter from Amazon- the pics look the same but in the size 1 they have ties. These fit as expected and are very comfy and have held up well for my 4 year old. The shoe strings are extremely long for such a little shoe. But that’s the only thing negative I could say.
