It took us a while to make a decision on an espresso maker. We sent back two Amazon purchases, but this Pixie is terrific. We found our machine. It's well made, easy to use, and cranks out a great espresso with crema every time. No hit or miss. No coffee grounds on the counter. Just a really nice highly caffeinated espresso. Now, we only have a few espresso a week. Too much caffeine to have everyday, but this machine does exactly what we need -- provides a simple fool proof way to pull a nice espresso. End of story. If you were a barista or love hand pulled espresso, than maybe a Nespresso machine is not right for you. We bought the refillable stainless steel pods but haven't used them yet. And, from reviews I've read, you really only get the perfect cup of espresso by using the Nespresso pods. But, that's what this machine is made to provide, and it does it really well. Plus, it looks great, and the design feels really smart. No unnecessary parts or dials. It's a little loud when it generates the espresso (I guess that's the 19 bar pump at work), but that really wasn't a concern for us. The Aerocino is nice to froth milk. Works just like the auto-frother we already had. Again, if you want a perfect flat white, to make latte art, or you drink espresso every day, you probably need to get an actual espresso machine and use your own coffee grounds. Best espresso machine ever! My parents have same one for over 10 years and still works great so I have to get a same one! No issues. Taste great! Can’t get back to regular coffee after you get a nespresso machine! (And about $0.40 a cup for espresso too!)

Good quality Nespresso machine and came in bundle pack with milk brother that works great. I like that they are separate and not attached as one big thing. My counter area is limited so I can keep the brother in a different spot. Frother works best with skim milk and it only takes a little to make a lot of froth. Definitely a great cup of cappuccino to wake up and make. I'm saving a forunte compared to coffee shops and have great cappuccinos sometimes three per day. I alway use two capsules to get a big enough cup of cappuccino. I buy the cheap off brand capsules. They are just as good as the ones twice the price. Bundle pack was a good price back when I bought it a while ago. The price fluctuates. I own a few of them. One for kitchen, bedroom, RV and travel!!!! ... show more

EDIT: I wrote this review in 2017. I love this machine so much I decided I should come back and say that after 2 years it’s still going strong! It’s construction is obviously very high quality, no surprise since it’s made in Switzerland. Probably one of the best Nespresso machines on the market.// The machine simply works really well. Came packaged very nicely and professionally with 16 pods of each flavor to try and also came with a coupon for $10 off a reorder of pods. The pods were about a month expired but it really doesn’t matter, those expiry dates are essentially meaningless especially for Nespresso pods. It was nice of them to even include free pods in the first place. The machine makes delicious espresso in a few seconds and it’s the perfect temperature for me. If you like a hotter espresso, startup the machine and run a lungo of water (with no pod) before inserting a pod and making espresso. The appearance of the machine is very nice and it employs nice materials. I was expecting the side panels to be plastic and the pump handle to be plastic, but they are in fact high-quality metal pieces. My only complaint about the machine is that it drips for a while after making the espresso, but that’s no problem because there’s a drip tray. Aeroccino makes perfect milk froth and hot frothed milk. One thing that isn’t conveyed very well in the Aeroccino documentation: the lower “MAX” line is the limit for milk frothed with the spring (whisk) attachment and the upper line is the limit for milk frothed without that spring attached. I find a rubber spatula works well for getting the froth out. Make sure you don’t use a metal spoon, that will damage the coating on the metal and ruin the frother. ... show more

Ok. I wanted a Nespresso machine for so long! Never thought I would buy this model but I did and I'm not regretting. This could be long but useful so read! I have a keurig machine. Never reaaly liked it because I love a coffee with crema. The tastes in keurig were dull and not fancy honestly, but it was cheap enough so I though what the heck! But came black friday and I saw Nespresso has dropped the prices. I always do a research before I buy something. Read the reviews and watch some videos if available. Nespresso has two line: Original and vertuo. Original line has smaller cups, vertuo has round bigger cups. Original cups and vertuo cups cannot be used interchangeably and there is no machine that accepts both. So you need to choose one line. Original line offers espresso and lungo shots and vertuo line offers Americano too. Here is the big game changer: original line cups price range is from $ 0.30 to $1.20 depending on buying from nespresso or other brands right here in Amazon. Virtuo line is from around a dollar per pod BUT BE AWARE: you may find original line pods from other companies but virtuoline cups are only purchasable in Nespresso brand. This means monopoly and higher prices. So with original line you have more choices and probably cheaper pods. Nespresso original line pods which are compatible with this machine are wonderful. The best. The aroma, crema and taste are amazing. Other brands are good but not as good. If you want to pay $ 0.70 per pod, then buy from Nespresso itself and enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee. Remember that this machine won't give you an Americano. Sure you can use 2 or 3 pods to have the same amount but wouldn't really be financially wise to do so! One more important thing: the original line pods had about 50 to 60 mg of caffeine. So 2 pods equal one Keurig pod worth of caffeine. But hey, the coffee is richer and tastes much better and honestly Keurig pods aren't really that much cheaper. The machine itself is cute. Smaller than I thought. Too simple to use! Just remember that you have to fill the water tank regularly as this is a small machine. Love the idea of an empty tank for used pods. Makes the machine really fancy. The bottons on the machine are programmable. You just simply press and hold each botton, water comes out, keep pressing untill you have the desired amount of water then let go. It's done! But remember, too much water means a duller taste and more work in refilling the water tank so be wise about it. The aeroccino is pretty simple to use and if you use whole milk gives you a wonderful froth. I tried coconut milk but no success as it doesn't have the fat needed for the froth. Just wash it after eash use and don't use a metal spoon with it. If you like drinking coffee loke a European or if you simply like beautiful crema on top of your coffee every time, you will love Nespresso. ... show more

I’m a person that has to research everything before buying it and it took me a long time to decide on this Nespresso pixie espresso machine. My daughter has an espresso/coffee maker combination of another brand and I liked the cappuccino her machine made. I researched the various espresso machines because I wanted to make cappuccino mostly. It looks nice on your counter and it’s not very big, it does not take up much space at all. The milk frother works great but don’t forget to heat the milk in the microwave first before using the machine to froth the milk. The machine and came with some samples of Nespresso, which were all really good. I bought several of my own Nespresso capsules and have made cappuccinos at least three times a week. Two college friends of my granddaughter raved about how pleased their parents were with Nespresso (v Keurig that broke after 2-3 years). They made up my mind. No regrets; best coffee I’ve ever had.
