I have had this item in two colors since November 2021 and it is now almost April 2022. Almost 6 months. In the time span I have had them, they have worked flawlessly! One of my gripes with a lot (not all!) of the newer Nerfs in 2022 is that they either are not very accurate *or* the durability is not there. Sometimes, certain Nerfs even suffer from both problems! (Some of the Elites have jamming problems if you read the reviews, for example.) Now, I am an adult who uses this around the office and for fun at home, but I have dropped two of these guns several times because I am clumsy and the firing mechanism never broke or became inaccurate. So, it seems they can take some hard hits, especially since I dropped one on concrete. lol. If you're buying for your kids and your kids are not careful with their toys (which is ok!), this may be a good option to get if you do not know which Nerf to choose. It can take some drops like a champ, and it looks cool. ;) ... show more

I would have given this gun 5 stars, but it uses nerf darts that are different than the blue/orange darts in all of the other nerf guns we have and those darts do not work well in this gun. Would have been nice to know that these special darts aren't compatible with other guns and vise versa. This gun only comes with 6 of the blue/white darts, so don't lose any of them! ... show more

Christmas day, and oh boy, it's time for Nerf battle. Hiding behind a family room recliner, Stratohawk fully loaded with fresh batteries, I call out "Ready!" My son, armed only with a Nerf Disruptor, charges around the corner, and while I let out a barrage of waffle darts, my son lines up his shot and squeezes the trigger. The dart is let fly, and just like Ralphie in A Christmas Story, I took the shot right in the eye. Good grief, that hurt! Down I went, the enemy victorious in battle. Moral of the story - wear eye protection kids, AND adults. A hit to the eye with a dart from 20 feet away from this blaster is no joke. Oh, the blaster itself is awesome. Buy one. The Amazon exclusive red and gray with clear plastic overlay is amazing looking. ... show more
