Worn with my Keen water shoes, these will keep my feet comfortable and warm even if we get hit with a cold rain. It’s easy to select good foul weather gear - but planning to be in a boat all day and keeping your feet happy is a bit trickier. These were great to have on a whitewater river trip in Costa Rica. Kept me warm and able to walk and move on rocks and sand during the journey and through parts of some wonderful wetlands. I also used some inexpensive water shoes to slip over these on certain parts of the trip. I like in Colorado and it can get pretty hot making the sand unbearably hot to stand in while playing. It also can get chilly at night or in the fall and that as the bigger reason for buying these. They make your feet sweat a lot in the summer but I expected that with the neoprene. Where they really are a benefit is on the chilly days. I can play in these and my feet will stay warm and comfortable when it is 50 degrees out and the sand is damp and cold. They stay on well and the ankle straps keep them from falling down. I've now used these a couple times when doing wet canyons in Zion. They have held up great and help keep sand from getting between my toes and they keep my feet warm. The only complaint I have is that the tightening strap is too short. It is barely long enough to velcro it on my skinny ankles and anyone with slightly thicker legs will have to make it extremely tight or just not attach the strap at all. They fit snug enough that most people probably don't need the strap, but they should make it long enough to actually be usable. ... show more

I bought X-Large as I wear a women's size 11 and most large dive socks wear out quickly in the toe because they're a little tight. These are too big, lots of room in the toes, but I wanted to use them right away, so I kept them. They keep my feet warm! I like the easy buckle too; they stay on while I swim laps. I use these in the winter in Florida to exercise on the beach. They fit well, and I wear them over regular socks, which works for me. I've used them all winter, and you can't beat the price value.
