Recently adopted a darling little beagle from our local animal shelter. She kept wanting to follow the kitties into their space to share their food and help, errrr, "clean" the litterbox. First tried a short bungee cord through a latch system. Didn't take long for her to realize if she pushed hard enough, she could get the doorway to open JUST enough more to squeeze herself in in. This latch system was my last hope! Very easy to install. Did opt to use screws (these are not included) in addition to the self adhesive backings; a little extra piece of mind for me. Took a few tries to adjust the strap to a width that allowed the cats to get in (one is a rather floofy part Main Coon) but the dog couldn't. End result was a success! No more worries. Considering getting a second one for the kitchen door that leads out onto the enclosed back porch. Don't have it open while it's really hot, but come slightly cooler temps it's nice for the cats to hang out and look out the big windows. ... show more

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Keeps my dog out of the cat box. The only issue was that I had to add stronger adhesive to get it to stick where I needed it. It works fine since then.

It keeps the door closed which is a plus, BUT the piece that can adjust the length isn't study so the dogs can get it to push the the max length to get into the room fairly easy, big dogs you'll be fine but small dogs will be able to bypass
