I recently had lasik surgery that didn't go as planned and I now need glasses for driving - specifically -0.75 in my right eye and -0.5 in my left :-(. I thought I'd be cheap and order a pair of -0.5's and -0.75s and transplant the right -0.75 lens into the right -0.5 frame. That worked and I ended up with one "custom" prescription set of driving glasses for 2x$17. Just for giggles, I then thought I'd try making a duplicate set by using the left side -0.75 lens in the right side of the frame and the right side -0.5 lens in the left side of the frame. I was able to do that and, because of the different shape of the lenses, the frame forced itself into a slightly different shape. However, it was pretty easy to bend the frame back straight (because the metal is relatively soft) and so now I have two "custom" prescription sets each costing me $17 :-). A picture of that second pair, with the lens positions transposed is attached - I don't think it looks awkward at all. Aside from that, the lens material is definitely cheap acrylic and super easy to smudge. They also have a very noticeable blue tint to them and, frankly, I don't much like that. I intend to use the second pair for watching movies etc. and the blue is only going to mess with that I think. None of the pictures in the product description adequately reveal the extent as to how blue these things are so I made a picture for you. The glasses also come in a bulky, cheap plastic case that I'll be putting right into the recycling. Would definitely have preferred a more eco-friendly shipping case like cardboard. ... show more

Bought these after cataract surgery, before I got my new prescription glasses. These are awesome. If it weren't for my need of progressive lenses, I would just keep these. I had no idea that glasses this inexpensive would work so well. They fit really well. And are just as clear as my expensive prescription glasses. Just awesome. ... show more
