He would probably wear a men's small, and this one is definitely a bit big on him, but not overly large (he will have room to grow into it). The robe is nicely made and looks just like the photo. It is warm but it is also very light weight fleece. Those used to a have cotton robe my be disappointed but this is very comfortable.
