  • Great product BUT poor packaging!
Flavor Name: Gluten-Free Steel Cut Size: 30 Ounce (Pack of 6)
We love the product but......I ordered a case of six. 4 out of the 6 has the seals broken & made a mess. Amazon sent me another case of six & 2 out of the 6 had broken seals. Poor packaging by both the manufacturer & amazon.

  • Since this item is not returnable I pitched it all out to feed the birds and sucked up the $33
Flavor Name: Gluten-Free Steel Cut Size: 30 Ounce (Pack of 6)
5 of the 6 canisters had the lids off and the seals were broken. there was steel cut oats all over the shipping carton. The shipping carton was not damaged so I feel the packaging for the product is faulty, Since this item is not returnable I pitched it all out to feed the birds and sucked up the $33. some dollar loss. I will not use a food product with a broken seal. ... show more

  • Too many hulls
Flavor Name: Old Fashioned Size: 18 Ounce (Pack of 6)
My family found these Nature’s Path organic oats to have more hulls than what we’re encountered in other brands. They taste great and cook up nice but in some of the containers it feels like you’re spitting out a hull in every other spoonful.

  • Great organic breakfast food
I've never had steel cut oats before. If you want them ready quick, soak over night, or even for a whole day. Soaking makes digestion easier too. I use water to soak during the day, then drain at night, then use almond milk to soak overnight. Then you can quick microwave it in the morning for a minute or too and it's good. The texture is still different, it's a bit chewier than quick oats, but I like it. You can add blueberries or whatever to it as well. It helps keep you full. The fact it's organic and was a good price is a huge plus too. I see it in the stores but it's always much more expensive and the container is smaller! I'd rather buy it here. ... show more

  • Comes damaged, unsealed
Flavor Name: Quick Cook Steel Cut Oats Size: 24 Ounce (Pack of 6)
Every carton had been banged in and the inner seal broken. This was not the outer box, but a byproduct of the manufacturer's packaging. No way to ensure a fresh, uncontaminated product.

  • Best Oatmeal Ever!
Now this is how oatmeal should taste! I cook them in my instant pot - high pressure for 11 min, turn off and use natural pressure release. 1 1/2 cups oats 3 3/4 cups water. They reheat nicely.

  • They Are Oat Of The Box!
Flavor Name: Steel Cut Size: 30 Ounce (Pack of 6)
I really enjoy some good, warm, fresh oatmeal. The steel cut oats are a special treat to me. I can find steel cut oats locally, cheaper, but I wanted to take advantage of a bulk order. I can vacuum pack them and enjoy for the entire winter. Having said all that; I won't buy again! They came in crushed with oats all inside the box and inner packaging. The seals were broken on all of the containers forcing me to vacuum pack all of them. I had planned to take a couple of containers to work as gifts. The have to get a zip lock bag of oats instead. ... show more

  • Conversion Complete
Flavor Name: Quick Cook Steel Cut Oats Size: 24 Ounce (Pack of 6)
As a long-time user of McCann's steel cut oats (quick version), I had that on Subscribe & Save here in order to get the best price. I did not like the price rising, so gave Country Choice Organic Quick a try. I may never go back. I don't find Country Choice better than McCann's, but it is different, very good in its own way, and has a more pleasing price. I'd read reviews here about the container being inferior, so I saved one of my McCann's containers to transfer the product - but now I see no reason to do that. This paperboard-type container is just fine, a bit floppy, but it works. I also read a review that Country Choice is good if you like to chew not-so-soft oatmeal, and that could not be further from my experience. The standout difference between McCann's and Country Choice is that the latter is much softer, almost fluffy, and I cook them the same way. My proportions are a cup (generous, sometimes I go a bit over) of water to 1/3 cup oats (also a hair generous at times), and I cook the oats for 7 minutes. Surprisingly enough, if I had to choose which of the two brands is better for clean digestion (euphemism - lol), it would be Country Choice. I say it's surprising because one would think that a rougher oatmeal would do a better cleaning job. Boy oh boy, my days have been going great, because I have a good start in the morning! ... show more
