It does separate the water from the air. It works and isn't bad. You have to manually drain from the bottom which is fine. No problems. If you are looking for a quick water separator for your air tools, buy it.

the included fittings would not fit into one side and that side seemed to be manufactured with less precision than the other side. despite thread tape, this item still leaked air, and my tank didn't move a single psi. was a nice idea though

I installed this to the side of my blast cabinet. I was getting too much water in the air line after running my compressor for 15 plus minutes. After installing this filter it stopped all visible water in the line. Everything installed great with the only minor exception that the heads of the bracket mounting screws did not fit my standard or metic allen head screws very securely so I still don’t know if they were actually metic or not. So I was just careful of the amount of force I needed to snug them down. Once I opened my air pressure on/off valve the filter plug on the filter sealed up and I was ready to use the blast cabinet. Releasing the air pressure in the line causes the water bleeder valve to automatically open and drain the collected water. I was surprised at just how much water it was removing. Very pleased with this filter.

The media could not be loaded. This little filter is a power house that you can SEE is working and doing its job. I have the filter installed between my compressor pump and tank to remove moisture before the air goes into the tank. I purchase a different brand filter that leaked upon arrival. The NANPU filter performs flawlessly. I highly recommend this filter and brand they seem to produce high quality parts at a very good price. Without pressure applied the bottom vent is open once pressure is applied it seals. I found NO LEAKS even at low pressures. Once pressure is relieved again the valve opens and allows the water to drain. If the water in the bowl accumulates above the line simply press up on the valve and it releases the water. Such a simple design that works VERY well. If you’ve read this far just buy the danged filter already!! It’s worth it.

In many cases people love the phrase 'you get what you pay for' and in this case that's true - but I knew what I wanted. Is this a value product? Yes. But for home use - its light duty construction is not an issue. I also mounted above human reach height so it shouldn't be vulnerable. It pulls water well. Doesn't leak. Came with thin but good for 150psi nipples in brass (with hex between the opposing threads!) The Teflon tape is not great - very thin and low Teflon content - but with 8 wraps per joint I did use it and get no leaks. I like it and it works for me!

Overall, a great product and what we needed. The teflon tape is normal, not sure what the other reviews are stating. We pressurized the system and left it for 3 days without a single drop in PSI.
