  • Love these bottles! They keep me drinking enough water.
I currently own 4 narrow-mouth 32oz Nalgene water bottles. I keep one at home, one in my car, one at work, and one as a backup. They are tough as nails and leak-proof. I love the simple twist-off cap, as it keeps the place you put your lips covered/clean until you want to take a drink. I only buy narrow mouth, as it's far less likely to spill water on me when I take a drink (especially while driving!) There are, however, inserts and adapters you can get for wide-mouth bottles (check REI). I've accidentally dropped these a ton of times on concrete, rocks, etc, and they've never cracked. They do scuff if you beat them up enough, usually on the bottom. Most of the bottles I own are scratched on the bottom from setting them down on hard surfaces, but scratches don't really show. Any decals that come printed are somewhat vulnerable to bad scuffs. The worst I've ever damaged one was when I took it kayaking in a northern lake, and something in the lake water caused the outside to fog over permanently. I've never been able to clean it off, but it hasn't affected functionality at all. These bottles should only be used for water, as putting anything sugary or acidic inside them will affect the taste of the water forever. They need to be cleaned regularly, or they can develop a bit of a smell, and mold will grow in the cap and threads from frequent use. I recommend using a sturdy bottle brush and hot soapy water. They are dishwasher safe; but take the cap off completely first and either wash it by hand or shove it in the silverware holder on the bottom. I once left my bottle upside down on the top rack with the cap unscrewed but still attached by the tether. The softer plastic of the cap got melted when it came into contact with the dishwasher sprayer. Luckily you can order replacement caps! I often pick up my bottles by the cap tether, and after a few years of that they start developing little splits near the top; but so far none of them have snapped off. Overall, if you want a simple, durable water bottle to go with you on adventures, this is the one! 32oz is my favorite because it's plenty of water but a manageable weight, and I can still grip it from the side with one hand. They come in so many different colors that I rarely end up in a room with someone who has an identical one. ... show more

  • Water Guzzlers favorite bottle
I LOVE water!! The key to guzzling is the spout on this bottle. No water spills out the sides because the opening is smaller than your mouth. Highly recommend Nalgene, especially with this lid.

  • Come on people! Best bottles for serious people who want to feel good
These are the best quart water bottles. Durable. Easy to clean. Forget those people who carry those skinny little nothing bottles around all day to "sip" water a little at a time during the day. Talk about lip service! Who in their right mind during work or leisure can sip water constantly? Only the newbies who are "health conscious" but no not the first things about the fundamentals of health. DRINK water people! Don't just sip it! We all absolutely need a minimum of 1/2 ounce per lb. of body weight each day. If exercising or sweating in hot weather then your body needs at least 25-50% more or more, depending on length or intensity of your activity. For example I weight 190 so I make darn sure I drink at LEAST three quarts every day. In a workout I drink an extra quart, and if outside in the sun even more. Keep in mind that 80% of all hospital visits are for dehydration, and I can verify this since next door to my place of work for the last 25 years is a hospital, and I know many nurses, technicians and doctors who work there- they've all confirmed that 8 out of ten people come in complaining of all sorts of symptoms- and it is usually simple dehydration. See where our health crisis is coming from? Not JUST dehydration, of course, but just think... something that simple.... If you are not used to getting your 1/2 oz. per lb MINIMUM per day then gradually build it up over a few weeks. You may have to alter your diet to make it less dense (get rid o or at least cut down on the clogging, dry dehydrating foods such as breads, grains, pastas, cookies, cakes, snack bars etc. not to mention flesh and dairy, and eat much more fruits and veg to make up the more dense acidic calories) or you may not feel "able" to drink that "much" water (it really is nothing! Some days when I work out doing hard squats, dead lifts or back work such as chin ups or rows, etc., I can easily down an extra half gallon in 30-40 minutes. And just doing something as effortless as mowing the lawn, but on a relatively hot sunny day, I automatically crave another gallon of water per hour at least. So get to it. These are the absolute best water bottles for serious people who want to feel good. ... show more
