I decided I wanted to start drinking protein powder and this will be my new shaker bottle for that purpose. This shaker bottle is simply incredible and should work great for my protein powder. I also bought some shaker balls to use with my Nalgene; so yes my Nalgene bottle HAS BALLS! I read some reviews of this bottle prior to my purchase and I noticed some people having trouble with this bottle's plastic wrapper it comes in. I looked closely at my bottle when I received it and I did see that it had a plastic wrapper covering it. I also seen what appeared to be zippy-like pull-apart serrations going down the bottle from top to bottom. So after I spotted that it became EAZY-PEAZZY to just unzip my Nalgene out of it's plastic wrapper in less than 2 seconds. I may get a few more of these just to lay around so I can stare at them from time to time. Bye people; I have to contemplate COLORS! ... show more

I used this bottle for drinking water during and after workouts at outdoor and indoor places. It is easy to take it with me because the of lightweights and the lid of the bottle is already attached to it in one side so, i can open the bottle when I drink the water, yet do not worried of losing the lid if I forget to close the lid. Also, since the bottle is transparent, I could see what’s in the bottle. This is the smaller version of the very popular Nalgene 32 oz. Wide-Mouth bottle. This is half the capacity of that bottle. It has the same durability and the same leak-proof qualities of the larger bottle. So, why would you want a smaller bottle? Because there are times when carrying around a 32 ounce bottle is impractical. A small bottle will easily fit in a backpack. It takes up less space in portable cooler. This is the perfect size for a kid's lunch box. The truth is, unless you are going some place where water or drinks are not within easy access, you do not need to carry a 32 ounce bottle. For hiking yes, but office and lunch uses, you do not. Nalgene bottles come in wide mouths and narrow mouths. It is easier to drink from the narrow mouth. A child will have an easier time drinking from the smaller mouth and the chances of spilling the drink is lessened. A smaller mouth, theoretically, also makes the bottle more leak-proof than it already is. I say theoretical because I have never had a Nalgene bottle leak. However, the narrow mouth will be harder to clean. You have to be careful to clean out the bottle after every use. Be sure to empty the bottle, rinse it well with clean water, turn it upside down, and make sure it dries completely. You do not want mold, mildew, and bio-film growing on the inside. It will be impossible to clean it out. You can try bleach. I have thrown out a narrow mouth bottle because mold grew on the inside. I neglected to clean it after use. It was a dark, blue bottle. If you have to have a narrow mouth, get the clear version. You need to be able to see the inside and check it for mold. I bought this in the wide-mouth to avoid the hassle. I only buy the clear bottles now. Highly recommended. You really cannot go wrong with the Nalgene bottles. They are totally leak-proof. Their durability is second to none. The wide mouth makes it easy to clean the inside of the bottle. ... show more
