I donโ€™t know if I completely trust the built-in hardware to hang this much weight on a wall, so YMMV - Iโ€™m permanently installing it in my kitchen using L-brackets to be on the safe side. If you plan to replicate this combo I recommend DIYing some nonslip โ€œflooringโ€ in each cubby as accidents do happen and the jars are glass. ... show more

This item was 100 percent perfect for my needs. I live full-time in a motorhome, and I needed a sturdy box to hold drinking glasses to avoid breakage while the motorhome is in motion. I tried other solutions, but they all had issues. The box had to fit into the RV cabinet; it had to be stiff/sturdy (not cardboard--I tried that and it didn't work) so that the interior upright separators didn't bend; the individual cubby holes had to be wide enough for a drinking or stem glass; it had to be affordable; the vertical portion had to be low enough so that I could reach to the back of the box to pull out a glass and lift it over the glasses in front. I was concerned when I saw some of the poor reviews but figured that I still had a reasonable chance that this would be something I liked. It is real wood. It's not that horrible stuff that passes for shelving and furniture these days. The shadow box is attractive with a couple of small imperfections but I think that they add character and won't affect my use. I think that the box should be a couple of dollars less expensive, but that's me being cheap. I can't rate durability because I just got it and don't intend to hang it on a wall. I had purchased this shelf so that my grandsons could display and store their action figures in it when not playing with them. Because the dimensions of the individual cubby holes weren't mentioned, I checked the reviews for information. I did read that they could be used for action figures but not the very large ones. It turns out, though, that they only fit the very small action figures but not the normal-sized ones and, of course, definitely not the very large ones. I erred. I should have inquired beforehand as to the dimensions of the individual cubby holes. I just wanted to share this information so that no one else would make the same error. On a positive note, they will fit the small Hot Wheels cars, which is what we will be putting in them, along with the tiny action figures. ... show more

i planned on using this as display/storage for rolled up scarves but after receiving it, some DIY will be needed as there are a lot of imperfections. i have to do some research because im not very handy. but i assume i will need to sand away some of the splinters and then gloss it over to prevent the fabrics from getting caught. unattractive yellowish color as shown in picture and comes with tiny triangular hooks for hanging. any suggestions as to a type of paint that will not stain my scarves and at the same time prevent wearing of the wood is much appreciated! ... show more
