I use this pad consistently. No, it's not fancy but gets the job done. You have to practice, though. There is a learning curve even though it's basically just a piece of foam. You need to clean it after every time you finish with a color otherwise it can be a mess and your wool will mix together with the last wool that was worked on the mat. I used this foam and a tool box to create a low humidity box to store my camera gear. After spending several hundred dollars repairing a lens that developed fungus, I now try to control the humidity of the lenses. I have refrigerator like container that controls temp and humidity, but it is too small to hold all my gear.
