  • Logical reasoning needed to exercise your mind
Format: Paperback
This is a great challenge for those who like logic games. There is a “murder” to solve using information about the “persons of interest” for each case. The cases start out simple but get a bit harder with each new murder; one more suspect added to the group of suspects than before. 80 murders to solve using logic to place each suspect in a room. When each has been determined only one room has an empty cell along with only one of the suspects. That determines which one is the killer since there is the only one suspect who is in the room with the victim. There are very helpful examples on how to use the clues as well as a few logical tactics that may help crossing out boxes. These examples can be very helpful solving the first murder and those that follow. Hints on how to use a new object, such as a chair, a lamp, the carpet etc. so you know if it is stationary. Lots of information about how to use these objects with pictures of the icons that are common in each puzzle. Anything new is clearly described. The helps, hints, walk-throughs of how to use the clues to solve the case, lists of objects used in the rooms, and other information are clear and detailed. The creator of each of these cases has made sure there is only one correct answer. At the back of the book a detailed explanation on how each bit of information given for each suspect is used to determine the right answer. An explanation of the logic used to determine which suspect is in which room, or area, is clearly explained. These detailed explanations can be very helpful if you’re stuck and the logical assumptions made up to that point aren’t working. A brief look at how the clues are used properly will help showing where your logic needs to be adjusted. Overall the creator of this series (3 books) has provided many useful helps as each case becomes more of a challenge but can be solved using the basic sudoku model combined with good logic. A great way to spend some time using your logical reasoning abilities without the need for a device with a screen. All that is needed is a pencil and your logical mind to enjoy the time needed in solving each case. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to enjoying the next 2 that have been published. It’s fun to use a brain for something other than keeping the ears apart. ... show more

  • A great screen time replacement that keeps me hooked
Format: Paperback
I got this because I wanted to cut down my screen time and put my energy into something else. To be honest, I had never played sudoku, so I thought I wouldn’t enjoy it, and I was so wrong. This is a great puzzle book for anyone who loves solving mysteries. It keeps getting harder: When you start, it feels like a piece of cake, but it doesn’t stay that way. The puzzles get tougher, and once you start one, it’s hard to move on until you solve it. Stick with it at the start: I lost interest a few times early on because I had no idea how to approach it. I gave myself some hints for a couple of chapters and started reading the clues more carefully, and after that it clicked. I’ve solved around 40 so far, and I’m already planning to buy the second volume. I mostly play it at work, in those restless hours between 3 and 5 when you’re done with your tasks but can’t leave. It keeps me occupied, and I don’t even notice how the time passes. It also keeps me stress free. Who it’s for: anyone who wants a screen-free way to stay busy, and anyone who likes mystery and logic puzzles, even if you’ve never tried sudoku. Final verdict: Highly recommend. I’m already hooked. ... show more

  • Very good value for the cost with the quantity of puzzles and quality of the book.
Format: Paperback
Well done book! It has a ton of puzzles, it has color, not just black and white. It is easy to learn to solve the puzzles. Really fun blend of Sudoku and Logic puzzles. Very good value for the cost. I would buy another one like this.

  • Fun puzzles!!
Format: Paperback
I love Murdoku!! The puzzles are challenging and unique. Each one has a theme and I was surprised how good they look. Great quality book. Every puzzle has a smaller grid area for you to work them out and then a step by step answer key at the back. I haven't finished the first book, but I've already bought the next. ... show more

  • Good but needed better editing before publishing
Format: Paperback
Really good concept, very fun. Some puzzles are done very well, but some, the answers make no sense. There's a few where you literally just have to guess where someone goes because there are multiple spots, and the answer key just says, x goes here, no detailed explanation. This is my biggest complaint, in trying to create challenging puzzles, they sometimes don't give enough information for you to be able to accurately complete the puzzle. Almost like they created the answer, then threw it into AI to create the clues, without double checking themselves. I do enjoy it, but wish it had been more closely tested by multiple people. On another note, I've found a 1.3 mm mechanical pencil works the best, because you can easily black out spaces, and trace the walls on your note table on each puzzle. ... show more
