  • Questionable
I have some mixed thoughts of this monitor, but since there is no perfect monitor out there, ill keep it for the long haul. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The problems I've ran into already: -1 dead pixel on the middle-right side of the screen. I purchased a 4-year warranty so until this gets worse, I won't send it back because it really is hardly noticeable, even in solid color or black/white backgrounds. -Why did MSI release this monitor without any proper and optimized support for their on screen display app? -The "easy button" on the bottom left of the monitor is useless as the on screen display app MSI has isn't even supported for this brand new monitor, so when you press the button to open the application to quickly modify monitor settings, nothing happens. -No RGB adjustments found or available at this time. -No real step by step instructions to set this monitor up. -It also came with wall mount screws and no wall mount bracket, why? -This is an IPS display, so backlight bleed is literally guaranteed in some extent when viewing bright displays in a dark room. Truthfully, the backlight bleed on this monitor is pretty minimal overall.. When turning the background to all black background the bleed is minimal to moderate at its worst, but when viewing colors in the display, videos, playing games in a dark environment--there is virtually no backlight bleed except for maybe in still-screen-load screens, etc. I think I'm more annoyed that MSI released this monitor and forgot to finish a few odds and ends. Seems like they rushed it out the door for something to work decent with windows 11 / 12-gen intel processors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scoring: 5/5 for gaming in this "gaming era" with the specific technology out- 240hz at 1440, or 240hz at 1080p downscaled. And you know the rest from the details provided by MSI. The monitor for gaming for the price is pretty amazing. 4/5 for picture quality- the picture is not perfect, therefore does not deserve a 5/5. It is great, but it could be better. The lack of support for the on-screen display app to customize settings easily also contributed to this score. 3/5 for having a dead pixel and some backlight bleed in certain viewing angles. With all that being said, I would still highly recommend this 1440p monitor over others on the market for gaming. Despite the areas of concern above, it is that much better in areas where this monitor shines. ... show more

  • MSI, stick with computer parts you're familiar with. Leave monitors up to the people with experience
You think a brand name like MSI which I am a big fan of love their hardware you think it's gotta be good right? I suppose it is if you're playing games that are very vivid, and fast paced like MOBAs and games like over watch are super impressive not too bad but then you play games that are open world and such and it all falls apart. If you're playing games getting 150 FPS consistently and that's all you play hands down great monitor. Amazing colors and overall for some people it might be the best monitor for the money I only paid 499 on sale and thought I'd deviate from my now almost 6 year old DELL 1440P 140Hz monitor. Well long story short I spent 2 weeks with it and I can't live 5 years with this monitor I couldn't live 2 weeks with it.... I'm currently writing this review because on my old Dell which is so much easier on the eyes for extended use.. I mean the Dell adapts to every situation so much better than the clunky MSI. If you like fiddling with the stupid interface or having a software app to control your monitor fine get this.. I updated the firmware and tries the software as a last resort and finally just said screw it went and got me the Dell/Alienware 240HZ 1440P monitor because I know it's going to suit someone who does both business and pleasure. If your rig is a dedicated FPS slayer and that's all you care about then go for it. If you use your monitors for every day computing, video editing, and maybe a fair share of competitive FPS games. Go get something else. ... show more

  • This monitor has been fantastic
Coming from a VA monitor I wasn’t expecting the colors to pop as much as they do. This monitor has excellent viewing angles, fast response times, a high refresh rate, and a single overdrive mode experience. For the price of this compared to other 1440p 240hz displays, there isn’t much more bang for buck out there. Outside of the ASUS PG279QM, this is the best 1440p 240hz display you can get in terms of price to performance. The gigabyte m27q is a bit cheaper, however doesn’t have a single overdrive mode experience, so the edge goes to the MSI imo. If you’re on the fence about getting this monitor, it’s absolutely worth it from my perspective, the color quality and refresh rate combined is outstanding. For a cheaper alternative the MSI MAG274qrf-qd is great at $~130 cheaper and provides a similarly great product. The only thing I really don’t like is that the chin on the monitor is a bit big for my taste, although the rest of the bezels are pretty thin. ... show more

  • Great Value for Work/Gaming
I've owned this monitor since July. This monitor is great for work and play. I work from home as a graphic designer so good colors do matter to me. This is not the best monitor on the market for color but it def gets the job done. Major selling point for me was the USB-C port as I wanted to use that connection to my MacBook pro. Works flawlessly. The "joystick" for the menu is very easy to use and is fast to switch inputs as I switch back and forth from my personal computer and macbook for work. Super easy. My Acer Predator input swapping is trash compared to this. ---Only negative--- The only thing is that the HDR may not really be usable and I believe it's because of the brightness levels. So if one of your big things is to experience HDR, get something with a higher HDR rating. I received no dead pixels and have had no issues. Def would recommend. ... show more
