  • Checked all of my boxes, except the one that matters...
Man, I really wanted to use this board... it met everything i wanted/needed, except it arrived DOA... would not POST, would not boot to BIOS, nothing... tried all of the tricks... resetting BIOS/CMOS, power switch on/off while holding the power button, reseating the CPU, one stick of RAM... yada yada yada... wasted more time than Id like to admit troubleshooting... even updated the BIOS (which was easy as it gets)... NADA. Would only turn on with no video and the CPU fail troubleshooting LED would be lit... with the occasional flash of the RAM LED... and that sequence would continuously loop. Pulled the board and installed an ASUS ROG Strix B550-F that I bought locally at the store that has the "geeks" and it fired right up. RMA'd this board sadly... I really was wanting this one.... but I digress... ... show more

  • I love msi but Return due to restart loop
I Love msi and i have built many computers using msi boards. I don’t like writing negative reviews especially about my favorite motherboard manufacturer. But the motherboard failed at start up and had a short that made the board loop restart. I tried everything from updating bios resetting cmos, different ram sticks, power supplies. I had to return it, in my 20 years experience building computers i never got stuck like this. Still a fan of msi and I'm sure it was just a defect. ... show more

  • Received a defective unit at first. System is running well with the replacement.
First time PC builder. Built my system and used my friends graphics card (Geforce 1050ti) for the setup process as mine had not come in the mail yet (and my processor didn't have onboard graphics). PC worked perfectly for 2 days, and I gave the card back to my friend. My card came in the mail (ASUS Radeon RX580) and after installing it began doing a restart loop. Sometimes I could get past the windows 10 login screen but soon after the computer would restart and boot directly back to the windows 10 login screen (No BSOD). Checking the event viewer, I saw I was getting a critical kernel power failure (Event 41) and believed it was a power source issue. After getting a replacement the problem persisted. To rule out CPU and RAM I ran a CPU stress test and memtest. When both passed, I was led to believe that it was a graphics card issue. I got a replacement from the vendor but this took a long time and I got impatient and ordered a cheap GT 710. When the problem STILL persisted, I figured it had to be the motherboard. So I requested a replacement and rebuilt the system and now it works fine. The product is great, however I am reviewing based on the bad experience I had (and after reading other reviews, it seems that this restart loop issue is a common issue). It is worth noting that I tested the RX580 in my friends system to see if it was the graphics card and it did not work in his system either. So I either got a faulty graphics card AND motherboard, or the faulty motherboard fried my card (maybe a faulty PCIe slot?). If this is the case, this issue could prove to be VERY expensive for customers. ... show more

  • MSI makes a good board.
PRO I like the black color theme and aggressive style, the EZ Debug LEDs that show you what's not initializing correctly during POST, the 4 RGB headers (2 ea. of 12V RGB & 5V ARGB), and the inexpensive price. CON Some of you may need more features, but this is an entry-level price-point with some extras others might not give you at this level. MSI has mid, high, and top tier boards, as well. ... show more

  • Very Nice Price to Performance Motherboard with USB C Front Header
This is a really nice M-ATX motherboard for the price. It has a USB C Front Header which is very nice for this price. It also has 4 DIMM Slots and 2 M.2 Slots which is very nice for a M-ATX board. It worked perfectly out of the box with my Ryzen 3600 and G.SKILL 3000MHZ RAM. The USB C Front Header worked perfectly in my be quiet! Pure Base 500DX. It also has BIOS flashback and a 5000 series BIOS is released, so if you wanted to run a 5000 Series CPU on this motherboard you could. Overall very solid board for the price with nice features. ... show more

  • It's a good motherboard that works for me
I Initially bought an Asus TUF Gaming B550M-Wifi but found that it was a dead motherboard when I was building my computer and so I returned it and chose the MSI B550M Bazooka as a replacement as I was able to get it delivered on the same day! It's a bit cheaper than the TUF but it is comparable in features as it has 2x M.2 slots and more fan connectors - things that I cared about. I think the main difference between the two is that the Bazooka only has a Gigabit LAN and no onboard WiFi/Bluetooth vs the TUF having 2.5Gb LAN and WiFi/Bluetooth on the motherboard, but that's fine, I don't think I'll miss those features on the motherboard as I bought an external Bluetooth adapter. So far, the MSI motherboard has been working fine and I've had no issues so far running it with the components below: -Lian Li 205M case - Ryzen 5600X -Noctua NH-12S -EVGA 3060 TI -2 front Scythe intake fans -2 top case exhaust fans -1 back Scythe exhaust fan As I am writing this review, the CPU temp is currently at 24 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees for the video card, but in general, I am averaging about 34 degrees Celsius on the CPU and 42 degrees on the video card. Entire build is quiet! One irritation when overclocking is that the CMOS and reset jumper is a bit difficult to.... reset as its directly underneath the video card. Next time when I buy a motherboard, I'll be sure to get one that has an easy access to a CMOS reset button or jumper. ... show more

  • Solid and versatile mobo for a great price.
I needed a mobo for a Ryzen 5 5600G CPU build, but they all seemed to need a BIOS update in order to recognize a Zen 3 CPU. This mobo allowed me to flash the update without having a CPU or memory in place, just a power supply and USB flash drive with the latest BIOS version. With 4 - DIMM slots and 2 - M.2 NVMe slots, this mobo has all the expandability I need. TPM was easily enabled in UEFI for Win11 install, and boot defaults were easy to change to fit my needs. So far it has been very fast and reliable, I only rated it a 4 for gaming since I'm using the Ryzen 5 5600G without a separate graphics card, so it it a little bit slower in 3D display. ... show more
