I chose this because i travel a lot for work and would like a gaming laptop for the motel rooms. This is a perfect option, the specs are amazing for the price. I got the gf63-9sc-066 with 16gb ram and it runs Destiny 2 with no problem. I think if your looking for a more affordable gaming laptop, this is the one. I think it runs a little hot and when you enable the cooling fan its loud, but cmon its a laptop, so far I am very happy with purchase, I will update in a couple months of use and travel.

I'm really glad I ended up getting this, it's perfect for my little games and it's really nice and customizable, it's got a great cooling fan and is really smooth the only issue I'd say is space but you can easily fix that yourself. I've tried some more demanding games on it as well and they hold up fine, it's a perfect little gaming laptop.

Got this during an MSI sale, it is a solid value for money, I can run most modern games to medium to medium high settings without the laptop breaking a sweat, it does heat up more than I'd like. but the Cooler boost mode makes this laptop sound like a drone almost. All in all it handles all the tasks that I throw at it!

I'm not a heavy user but having the battery be fully charged and die in between uses is unacceptable. Works fine when plugged in. Will not be purchasing another msi made machine however.

Ok so let me start by saying I only bought this because of the cyber Monday deal they had, was essentially $800 to my door with a GTX1650 and 16mb ram. So my last rig was a 15” Razer Blade that was my absolute favorite. The build quality and overall presentation of that over this one is quite noticeable. HOWEVER...after updates, configuring fans and speeds this thing has played both Rust and Borderlands 3 without a bit of lag and also noticeably quieter fans. It does get warm but doesn’t seem any worse then any other laptop. So if you can get a deal on it, go for it. Not sure I’d pay full price but so far this thing is kicking butt.

This is my first ever gaming laptop, love the quality build of this product. I knew I was going to go with MSI because of hearing they specifically specialize in gaming laptops and bringing great products to the market. I use this laptop for gaming and work, so definitely love the portability and how I can switch between playing online to getting straight to work. Along with laptop I am using it for my desk set up at home.

Quick and easy setup with very little bloatware. Had it up and running with my preferred software in just a few hours. Laptop is light and easy to move around. Great price for the specs.

PROS: Great value for mid-range gaming, especially MMOs like SWTOR and Guild Wars 2; runs very quiet and doesn't come pre-packaged with tons of bloatware; a decent mix of peripheral slots 3 USB, 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI; light for a gaming laptop. CONS: Due to the design (heatsink/GPU placement), runs VERY hot above the function keys during gaming. Regular non-gaming use is not an issue. This can be mitigated with a cooling pad, but I do not recommend closing the lid for hours on end (for example, if you are using an external monitor) as the heat will likely warp your screen over time. FOLLOW-UP (9/5/2021): I changed my review from 4 stars to 1. The reason? The problem that I listed in CONS became a deal breaker after about a year. The laptop now overheats and will crash after gaming for more than 10 hours. Then it goes into a Windows repair loop because the GPU is freaking out. I think at this point, I have about a few weeks before the card is permanently fried. Poor, unsustainable design. Will never buy MSI again.
