Great value for $110-ish! It supports 3 onboard connections to 3 monitors (HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA), with an APU such as Ryzen 7 5700G. HDMI is 2.1, but DisplayPort is only 1.2, so check on your monitor's resolution. The motherboard comes with BIOS version 7C95vH8, so the BIOS does not need to be updated to support Ryzen 7 5700G. Version 7C95vH0 and above supports this CPU/APU. It supports up to 8 SATA storage devices, so it's great for future expansion on HDD or SSD. It works perfectly with a case like Phanteks Eclipse G500A (This case also provides front panel type-C USB connector to this board). Note that the M.2_1 slot support Gen3 PCIe SSD, unless your CPU/APU supports Gen4. Practically there is not much difference between Gen3 and Gen4 PCIe SSD anyways for either gaming or daily use. The compatibility list on the MSI website was last updated on FEB 2023, and the tech support is not very helpful on finding anything other than that list. The newer versions of DRAM should mostly be compatible, and you just have to plug them in and see if they pass the onboard EZ LED light debug checking sequence at booting. If so, then your DRAM is good to go. Caution: Do NOT install the B550 chipset drivers through the MSI Centre prompt! If you do it, it will mess up your system and make it not bootable. Then you'd have to restore the system to the last recovery point. Just go with the drivers on the MSI website (and the AMD website for your CPU/APU), and you are good to go. ... show more

Building on this board was very easy and I never ran out of any rgb connectors or usb headers. I bought this to build my little brother a gaming PC for Christmas. Building from parts instead of pre-built is a challenge when you're new to it or don't do it often, but it is cheaper and quite rewarding, and of course, the core to the system you will build is the motherboard itself. This board allows for most of the best features of the AM4 chipset, and includes onboard wifi and bluetooth. It worked with the Ryzen 5 5600 (non-G variant, just the 6 core, 12 thread CPU) with no issues. For people looking for it, it has plenty of RGB headers. It allows for a lot of ram at high speed, and blazing fast NVMe storage It's biggest drawback is the PCIe slots. It has one 16 x4, which is great for a video card, but I believe the other two are x1, so expansion cards are limited. Also, while it does have USB 3.2, it does not, I believe, have the motherboard header for a type-C port (I could be wrong, here!), and so you will need a 3.2 type A to type C adapter for any type-C needs, such as VR. All told, though, it is a great motherboard that suited my needs excellently, and worked with all the parts I bought for it. ... show more

I have a Living room PC I built with left over parts from my main PC build and it has a B450 board that lacks certain features, such as WiFi and a USB-C header for the front port on my case. This motherboard was fairly cheap and an upgrade so I went with it. Having built-in Bluetooth and WiFi is nice, it saved from having to use adapters. Installation was very easy but I'm disappointed at how low quality the IO shield is compared to my previous board, which had padding and was colored so you could see all the labels. The USB 3.0 header looked crooked but still works. The main M.2 slot gave me some issues with my boot drive not being detected. I thought at first that my drive had died but it would work in an enclosure. It would also work if I didn't use the heatsink. Turns out that the screw for the heatsink needed to be installed somewhat loose or it would bend the stick. After figuring that out, the drive was detected. I was able to boot into Windows without reinstalling and immediately got prompted to download some MSI drivers, which was convenient. Make sure to remember to remove the old motherboard's software and drivers. ... show more

Motherboard is great, two M2 slots on a micro atx with wifi and bluetooth feels like a great deal at this price point. FOR WIFI AND BLUETOOTH FUNCTIONALITY you will need to install drivers from MSI, mine did not work or recognize until I completed this step. There are two ways to go about this. You can install the "MSI Centre" from the microsoft store. This program is insanely hard to navigate, and most people can't get past the terms and conditions. (You have to read it for continue to light up). The consensus is that it's junk but can't vouch past the terriible intro. OR, you can install Dragon Center. I went this route and it was pretty painless (search auto for drivers, install drivers, done). Just be careful not to update BIOS from dragon center or MSI center.. this has been known to cause problems on MSI motherboards. Always flash from a USB to be safe ... show more

I believe that the MSI Pro B550-VC is a great MB for the price point, it has allot of serious OC capabilities with allot of hardware features other MB OEM's just didn't provide. However... a simple task such as registration of the MB was hampered due to ALL of the criteria that was required simply to register that I purchased this MB, in fact I still haven't found the 3 # verification code that is placed somewhere on the MB (I believe its on the Back of said MB) but I wasn't going to yank it out once everything was installed. NOPE. Also had a initial UEFI registration issue that was presented to the Amazon/MSI problem report portal but MSI did not respond to date, and to be truthful I finally resolved the issue myself after some investigative work VIA the internet. So... I guess if everything goes well you'll be quit pleased with this MB, and even if it doesn't, and assuming you don't spend a considerable amount of time researching your particular issue you still will have learned something and gained a little knowledge on the way and still have a great MB as your foundation! ... show more
