  • Great screen for being the smallest inches currently.
Unless there are smaller screens out there, the 24" MSI monitor is a perfect start for your average computer work and gaming, can't forget the gaming on your off time of course. I bought a screen previously last year and it works perfectly and bought another for my other computer to have 2 computers working. ... show more

  • Nice monitor with some quirks, worth <$200 but no more
The monitor is nice, and a big upgrade from what I had previously. For a 144Hz monitor under $200, it is pretty good, but as expected with this price point, there are some quirks. Some of which I wish I knew before purchasing it. These quirks may mean nothing to you, or be a dealbreaker. Pros: 1) 144Hz over DP, 120Hz over HDMI - feels butter smooth 2) Full range RGB 3) Bright, but comfortable 4) Easy to set up out of the box 5) Includes DP cable 6) Decent value for the price Cons/Quirks: 1) The monitor's firmware will INSTANTLY start searching for another signal from another port the moment the current signal disappears. It also takes 5 seconds to do so, and there is no manual control while it is performing its search. So if you are using this to test a new build, you will be seeing a blank screen alot. The faster your BIOS boots, the more likely that the time it takes this monitor to initialize and find your signal, your chance to enter your UEFI BIOS has passed, leaving you to do some things "blind" (such as know which key to mash to enter the BIOS). It is a major pain when trying to debug a new build. 2) When using FreeSync in G-Sync compatible mode, the backlight flickers to the point of being noticable during frame drops. In fact, leaving the refresh rate at 144Hz rather than FreeSync is less distracting, as I have yet to see tearing, but can always see the backlight changing. 3) The aspect ratio setting ("Screen Size") is global. So if you need 4:3 for HDMI1 (example), you would have to switch it back to 16:9 for DP. 4) There is no shortcut to the "Screen Size" setting, but plenty of shortcuts to other less-used menu options. 5) The firmware is not updatable by the end user. 6) There is very, very slight backlight bleeding, but it is only noticable on the darkest of scenes, and at unoptimal viewing angles. This doesn't bother me at all, as it is very subtle, but worth mentioning. ... show more

... show more

  • Probably the best budget monitor. Both PC and console.
This has to be the best budget monitor for PC and console gaming yet. This monitor was a dream to set up and it connected perfectly to my Xbox One S instantly. Having Display Port allows you to run 144hz on any computer that can run that fps and has DP. Although HDMI can only allow you to run 120hz max, which is fine for consoles. The fact it’s also curved is beyond my understanding, a budget monitor that can run 144hz and is also curved at this budget of a price is wild! Pick this monitor, I promise you won’t regret it. Edit: I now have an Xbox Series S and it runs 120hz perfectly. I connected it to a computer as well and it actually does run 144hz over HDMI, very cleanly might I add. Still, a fantastic monitor, still would recommend! ... show more

  • Easy to install
It was easy to install and set up, the picture quality was great going from a 760p screen, the options it comes with are definitely worth the money. The only thing that annoyed me was no specification if it came with a display port cable or now, Which it DOESNT, only comes with a 3 ft HDMI cable, which i'm having to order a display port cable seperately, otherwise it was a great purchase. The screen does studder a bit while changing windows, but that again could only be because of the cabling. ... show more

  • Currently using the monitor to write this review
Its a good budget monitor but im def looking at "MSI QHD Rapid IPS Gaming G-Sync Compatible HDR 400 1ms GTG 2560 x 1440 240Hz Refresh Rate 27" Gaming Monitor (Optix MAG274QRX)". This monitor does give out a good quality picture but I just dont like how it makes like people or when your watching yt there face skin looks a bit weird. In gaming there is no problem with the contrast or color at all. It only looks weird when your watching a yt of a person there skin looks a bit orange to me.. ... show more
