The day I had been dreading for years finally came. My third child had made it to the 4th grade, which meant one thing: recorders. I hate this instrument with every fiber of my being, and over the past several years of kids playing it, I have come to the conclusion that elementary music teachers are evil and sadistic. However, as far as recorders go, this is a fine one. The price is good, and it makes the right (albeit terrible) noises. My daughter was happy to get a pink one. This is well made and perfect for a child wanting to learn to play. My son is almost 5 and is taller/larger hands than most his age and this instrument is barely too large for him to maneuver his fingers properly but it is a great buy for a 7 year old probably and older for sure!
