In the 80s when I was a kid I spent most of my free time either riding or working on my go-cart. One of the many things that would need to be replaced on a somewhat regular basis was the centrifugal clutch. I would beg my Dad to get me another one when the old one was just completely worn out (usually the internal brass bushing from what I remember). I remember those Mercury clutches use to cost $50 which was a lot more money than $50 these days, so sometimes my cart would sit until Dad would get me a new one (no Amazon back then, had to go to the lawnmower repair store). Sometimes I could rebuild them taking parts from one to make one that would work for a little while longer. Flash forward to today, while cleaning out my parents barn my old cart was sitting in there covered in dust. My kids begged me to dig it out and get it running. Sure enough it needed a new clutch among other things so I figured I would give this one a try. It is at least 1-1/2 times as heavy as the other clutches I use to use and is built like a tank. Smooth rotation and will no doubt last a lot longer than what I use to get out of the ones that cost twice as much 45 years ago. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have had this for a little over 2 months and it going good so far. But here recently started to change color and get a little squeaky. I really like this ltch and hope it lasts longer. I will update if anything changes.
