The first photo is with the support backing. The second photo is with the small push backing that came with these 9mm pearl earrings I got a couple of years ago for Mothers Day. I haven’t been able to comfortably wear them because I have thinner “attached”earlobes that won’t support large stud earrings. They have seemed comfortable for the 10 minutes I have worn them and the backs feel secure. For those reviewers that broke earrings or the backs themselves, I think they weren’t properly operating the backing. There is a mechanism inside the backing that locks the post in place. To remove or adjust the backing don’t pull on the plastic… pull on the metal plate on the end of the backing. This will allow the backing to freely move.

then these are worth the price. I lost a very expensive and precious earring and was completely heartbroken. My angel must have felt my pain because I found the backing while putting on my shoes then happened to find the earring when I put my hand down on our bench to stand up. I about cried with happiness, but I stopped wearing them because I was so afraid to lose them again. I saw these and thought, boy they're pretty pricey but then remembered how much my earrings cost and how much they mean to me and how bummed I was not being able to wear them. So, I took the plunge and bought a set of these - best investment ever!!!! They are easy to remove (once you learn the trick to only grab the very top ridge) and NEVER fall off!!!! I can wear my earrings with confidence that I will not lose them because they fell off or came off when taking off my hoodie!!! I like these so much that I bought a second set for the earrings my sweetie bought me this past Christmas!!!!

After using these for 3 years, and checking regularly to make sure they were in the right position, one came off while washing my hair today. Thankfully, the diamond stud stuck in my hair and flew off when I brushed my hair. Took me two hours to find the diamond. I never did find the back so I'm assuming it went down the drain. Very disappointed!! Like I said, I checked them regularly and made sure they were all the way up close to my ear. Would I buy again? Probably, but I'll check daily. Just wish I could purchase just one at half the price rather than pay for a pair.

I was a little hesitant to spend this much on one pair of earring backs - but they work. I am constantly loosing earrings as my piercings have unfortunately stretched too large over the years. Earrings will pull down and eventually the backs will fall off entirely. If the earrings are small enough they will fall out through the holes in my ears. These backs are great. They lock in place so easily. I got the ones with the plastic ring around the outside edge given the size of my piercings and they were perfect. They fit all my different earring post sizes. I wish I had done this sooner! I never write reviews but these backs truly saved me from loosing another pair of earring
