The cost of these earring backs threw me a little, but they are amazing and definitely less expensive than replacing even one of the diamond studs they are securing. My earrings came with screw backs, but every day I was still having to check and tighten them, with these I’ve realized they stay put where I set them and I can breathe easier when I wear my studs. UPDATE 5/28/24: I've now had these locking earring backs for 3 years and I love them. I use them for a pair of solitaire studs I wear daily and have had no issues. I have noticed they get in the way when I talk on the phone, particularly if I have to hold the phone to my ear with my shoulder. This is not a problem for me as I generally wear ear buds anyway. I've been through a couple different locking backs and these are the first pair I have not returned. The biggest issue I've had with locking backs is they get dirty and lose their grip. I'm lazy, I'm not about to remove my earrings to clean the backs weekly. This set are fairly pricey but definitely worth it. I've had these for about 2 months now and haven't had any issues with losing grip. They're on and they are not going anywhere (I've tried), I wear them all day and sleep in them and have no issues. The locking mechanism catches the indent at the end of the stud post and stays there. They don't come off unless you deliberately remove them. You can't do it accidentally - I've caught these on towels and shirts and they don't slip off BUT they remove easily when you pull the end piece. These work really well and are very comfortable. I prefer them to screw backs that I've had in the past. That being said, they need to be 50-100% larger in diameter than they are. These things are really tiny and not cheap. If you have thicker artificial nails, they can be even a little more tricky to take off properly. I don't sleep in my earrings so I take them off daily. If you wear them all the time, then this probably won't effect you as much. It has gotten easier over the last month that I've had them. I'd give them 5 stars if they were a more appropriate size.
