I purchased this target to replace 2 Black Hole targets. I placed the Black Hole targets back-to-back to prevent arrows from going all the way through and they lasted about two or three weeks. I have been shooting this Morrell Yellow Jacket target about 3 times asmuch per day as the previous targets and it shows no signs of allowing arrows to pass through. Infact I have a hard time driving pins in to hold the paper targets. I love this target and will carry one in my camper too. ... show more

‘‘This is a really great target for recreational back yard, and field shooting. I’ve shot over 1,200 aluminum, wood and carbon arrows (all target points) into just one side of the bag (see photo). I’ve shot from both a 30lb recurve and a 50lb recurve at 20 to 50 yards, over the last 6 months, and it’s still able to easily stop an arrow from a full-draw of my 50lb bow at 15 yards. The bag is not at all heavy to carry from my patio, where it lives, to where I use it. It’s under 20lb’s, and has a handle. The material is kind of self healing. The nylon strands seem to get pushed back together when arrows make fresh holes near-by. You can see in the picture how the holes from previous shoots have closed up and look like dimples now. The holes you can see are from the last few of rounds of arrows. I imagine eventually the nylon weave will break down, and the holes won’t close up any more, but then I still have the other side. I have no idea how the target bag will perform with arrows from a high-powered bow, or a cross-bow, but for the kind of shooting I do, it offers really good performance and a great value. I plan to shoot another thousand or so arrows into this side before I turn the bag and start over on the other side. ... show more

    • Just what I needed
This target is awesome. I have shot a 50 lb Bear Bow, multiple Genisys bows, and even a Crossbow at this thing and have not found anything that it couldn't handle!!! It sits pretty well on even surfaces, it has enough weight to it to hold it in place and not move or fallover even when shooting into it, and it is bright enough so that you can see what you are aiming and shooting at even at longer distances. In removing arrows, it is very easy, even my kids ages 8, 10, 11, 14, were able to do it very easily and even after shooting a couple hundred arrows into it, it is still holding up really well. This is an awesome target for medium use and a really great starter for kids! I am extremely pleased with this target and would definitely buy it again and again! Though it's holding up so well, I don't think I will need to for a long time! ... show more

    • Not as easy to remove as advertised, but still a quality product.
This product works as advertised, except for the fact that the arrows are not as easy to remove as advertised. I generally have to give them a solid, sudden yank to get them out of the target when I hit an area of the target that's never been hit before. I shoot with a 30 pound recurve bow, and my dad once shot at it with a 70+ pound crossbow (I think) crossbow several times - this target stops field-point arrows dead in their tracks with no problems seemingly no matter how powerfully they are shot at the target. (But of course, the greater the power the arrow is shot with, the deeper the arrow penetrates into the target.) I would highly recommend to someone looking to get a target for their archery practice that they get this one. ... show more

    • Neighbors don't suspect a thing
Condo life can be tough for an archer, especially when a global pandemic shuts down access to any of the local ranges and the police get a little testy about using weapons in public open spaces. Luckily, with exactly ten yards measured down the hallway and a very sturdy backdrop just in case, it's possible to use my Morrell Yellow Jacket target to get in some good practice while maintaining appropriate social distancing. I shoot a 35# barebow, and this target takes the hits just fine, even at short distance. No fear of arrows coming through the other side (yet - the target is still brand new) and no struggle to pull them out again. Somewhat louder than foam on impact, but nothing that my neighbors would complain about. A huge stress relief to be able to keep practicing! ... show more

    • Great target bag
I have now shot many hundreds of arrows into this bag. The image on the surface is tattered, but it still works well and the basic fabric, while very worn, hasn't torn. I have ordered a new cover, but it will be a while before I actually put it on, as it functions quite well even though it looks pretty beat up. I am using a 20 pound bow at 30 yards. I like that it can just sit on the ground because misses (which I still do much more than I would like) are angled down and just go into the ground rather than across the property. I have it propped against a piece of firewood to keep it from falling over, and that works just fine. ... show more
