  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Fits well on my old machine.
Size: 150 in-lb
I used it for the first time this morning. The biggest problem is the feed speed reset itself to a much higher speed than I set it for. This happened every time I went from left travel to off. For this job I just set the rheostat to off and then reset the speed on each pass. This will need to be resolved since it adds an undesirable additional step into the process. As far as working as a power feed it did well. Speed was stable even at low settings and power to move the work into the cutter was as expected. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Starting point
Size: 450 in-lb
My vertical mill is not a supported model, but I was able to adapt this 450oz/in unit to a LHS drive using a steel plate, few sprockets and a length of chain. the handle has different detents behind it, and it can be converted to a horizontal mount pretty easy. drive shaft was 8mm, so a type 25 chain fit with some relief around what used to be the bevel gear. (B09QSQZY47) Overall, once it got it in, it works as it should, easy to set speed and change direction with the left hand and add oil with the right. The steel support plate doubles as a spot to stick down a large magnetic tray with collets and mill bits. also, my light clips on in just the right spot. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price
Size: 450 in-lb
Like others have said, the directions are very vague. The keyway is cut too small, some modification needed. I put mine on a old Bridgeport. The variable speed does oscillate at very low speed, works good enough for me.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Good feed but expect a lot of modifications
Size: 450 in-lb
After reading reviews I expected to have to make modifications. Built a new mounting bracket and extended out about 12” to keep full table travel. It works great but be prepared..

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Fits Sharp mill
Size: 150 in-lb
I put this on a Sharp mill. It took about an hour to install. Making sure to clean everything that came off the mill and grease it all well. I followed the instructions on shimming the motor and it has been working well for the last few months now. The brass gear collar needs to be trimmed down about 0.25-0.375" in length to fit the Sharp mill. With the length it comes you get maybe half a nuts worth of engagement on the handle retaining nut. Can either turn it down on a lath or cut it down on the mill you're putting this on. I have also noticed at lower speeds, sometimes the motor doesn't want to engage when switching to power feed. You have to give the speed dial a small jerk and that will get the motor going. But once it is going it has had no problems feeding at whatever speeds I set it to. For the price I paid, even with the quirks, I don't know why I didn't buy one sooner. EDIT: I went back and looked at the brass piece. If you were to trim it down the ball end of the handle would interfere with the motor housing. So the handle itself would also need to be trimmed on one side as well. I have been running it as is for a while and it has been fine. Eventually I'll get to trimming it down. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Instructions don't say a lot

Had to some parts ( bushing, brackets...) but it works very well . Good for the money. Would recommend.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Had to machine a bushing for my Bridgeport.
Size: 450 in-lb
It works for my x axis ( I got the 450 in lbs one) it has enough power to move the table in and out. I had read that I would have to modify a bushing in other reviews. It would also be a simple matter to include a bushing for a Bridgeport. I have a lathe so it wasn't a big deal. I suppose that most people who have a mill also have a lathe but I'm also sure that not everyone does. It seems to maintain a constant speed so I really like it. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Had to do a lot of machining
Size: 150 in-lb
I have a Millrite MVN Milling Machine, and this power feed required a lot of machining to get to work. First when I opened the box, which was in good condition, my power feed had cosmetic damage in the form of scratches on the outside. I tested to make sure it still worked, and my mill isn't exactly new either so I decided to keep going. I couldn't use the mounting bracket this came with due to the casting of the bed ( there is this little circular lip that the dial sits in, so it is not flat). I had to machine a disk to fit in that lip and secure it to the bed. Also the drive gear fits a 5/8 shaft, but the inner diameter of the bearing in the motor assembly is much wider in diameter than 5/8, so I had to machine a bushing for the shaft so the motor assembly could sit true with the shaft. In addition the keyway for the bronze drive gear was smaller and narrower than my mill's lead screw, so I had to use a keyway cutter to widen the keyway so I could actually key it into the shaft. Lastly, in order to attach the manual handle back I needed to machine a 5/8 shaft extension to fit into the bronze drive gear and out so the handle could be reattached at the end of the whole assembly (my lead screw was too short). Some of these things were my own fault for not looking closely before, and some of them was the lack of information from the company, instructions, and listing. It works fine for what'd you expect for a cheaper power feed, but I can't say my experience was particularly pleasant or easy. ... show more
