    • Finally fixed my GL450 broken vent
Color: For W164 Front Row
This contains everything you need. The only thing that was confusing is the small metal clip. I found out on installing that it fits into the body of the clip and puts pressure on the horizontal clip that slides through the vent clip. It is what causes the vent to self center with a slight detent and stay where you put it. Also, the metal linking piece was fine but a bit flimsier than the Mercedes one. If you have the old Mercedes metal backing piece, use that instead. Finally, don't try and do this while in the car. Its easy to remove the vent from the car. Get 2 or 3 small jewelers screwdrivers and there are 3 clips inside the vent. One at the top and at the bottom left and right. Slide these out and wiggle the vent out. It takes a bit of wiggling and reopening the clips again, but its pretty easy. Then you can fix the vent on your table and not drop parts inside the dash. Good luck! ... show more

Both side vent tabs on my 2017 W166 were broken. I couldn't figure out how to remove the entire vent assemblies despite ordering the Mercedes pulling hooks/tools, Instead, I used a small tape covered (to prevent scratching) flat screwdriver to pry out just the individual slat/louver with the vent tab slider from the side. I was concerned it would break, but both sides popped out. installed the new piece and then reinstalled the slat. NOTE: make sure you have the prongs correct as for the side vents they are offset to one side. and of course make sure they hook onto the vertical post which controls movement. ... show more

A lil bit of a pain to install at first, but once I figured it out it was pretty easy. Fits perfect on my 2011 GLK350. Finish on the chrome is slightly different but far enough away from my original ones no one will notice.

Used it to replace the broken hook in my ML350 and it works well. Installing it with the included tool made it easy too. However I only needed the hook but had to buy the whole piece. Quite pricey too.
