Description

Pressed on 180 gram vinyl at RTI. Mastered from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Grey at Acoustech Mastering. Features all original packaging. Highlights include 'Caravan', 'Into the Mystic' and 'Moondance'. Van Morrison's 1970's follow up album to Astral Weeks titled Moondance was every bit as brilliant; buoyant and optimistic where Astral Weeks had been dark and anguished it cracked the Top 40 and generated classic hits.

  • This is the 2008 Rhino - Warner Music pressing...
... supposedly from Germany. From what I've read the mastering was done by 2 different engineers (1 per side) and has received rave reviews. However, this version still contains the track "Into The Mystic" at the end of Side 1 that contains the loud horns as opposed to a "tambourine" version played by Van Morrison and that had appeared on the very early pressings. This "Tamborine" track was restored on the 2008 Japanese CD and the 2014 vinyl remaster. My copy also came pressed off center which forced me to return it. My next purchase will be the 2014 remaster as I dislike the foghorns on that particular track. On Amazon it costs a few dollars more, but I believe it's worth the money, especially if its a European import, ... show more
