I greatly enjoyed this as it served two purposes, personal decor and a gift. I almost did not notice the strings, which you need to tie on yourself. I'm not a nifty knotter so I just tied and trimmed any excess. I misjudged the size so be sure you hang high, particularly if you have kitties who may like the tassel. My only qualm really is on the white and pink version, the contrast is such that it is hard to discern the smaller details from a distance, as you can on the black version. I live in an apartment and don't have my own room, my counter I draw at is kinda my office and it's taken me quite a few years to save up and finally make it a little more cozy for myself. This banner is absolutely BEAUTIFUL in person! It is folded to arrive safely but the creases aren't hard to straighten. (And frankly, I'd rather have it folded the way it was either way because it cake in perfect condition and in a little ziplock!) You do have to tie the ribbon to the stick, but I promise it's super easy. I LOVE the atmosphere it gives and I'm going to buy some for friends too.
