We went to see Monster Jam for the first time and my almost 5 year old loved it. He thought Megoladon was awesome and loved to do his litte dance. I bought this for him to start his collection and it was a hit. The truck itself is really well made and the wheels have great movement. The track is also great quality and snaps into place well so it doesn't come apart. It does take a little maneruvering to get them to snap all the way but it wasn't too hard. Like others have said, it doesn't land the loop every time even when it's on the more closed setting...but that makes it super exciting when you land it. All in all, its a great addition to his other track sets and I will be purchasing some of the other sets from Monster Jam to add to his collection. I personally am happier with this set/truck and the price point over some of the other Hot Wheels monster truck sets he has had. ... show more

I get what they were shooting for here. If you've been to a monster truck show or seen one on tv, you know that things more often than not, go wrong. Trucks catch fire, parts break, trucks flip over etc. If you're keeping with the spirit of things then this is perfect. Getting the truck to stick the landing is part skill but mostly luck. My kids enjoyed this for about a day but then seemed to have forgotten about it. Honestly, I think this is one of those toys that becomes more fun when you can combine them with other toys in the series. The fun with this is so fast it makes sense that they moved on. If you child has other monster truck toys and sets then this I think is a great addition. However, on its own, the fun here is over a bit too quick. What I liked: My son (8) assembled it on his own with little instruction. The included truck is a unique version of Megalodon, my son thought that was very cool Hitting it activates the fun, albeit loud. Having the adjustable gap does add a layer of complexity. Kids need to find the sweet spot in terms of force applied. Durable toy that is going to stand up to use. What I didnt like: My kids were trying to launch this thing through the house, hitting the handle as hard as they could. So not the quietest toy. On its own the fun is over pretty fast. ... show more

This playset is fun and keeps toddlers and preschoolers easily entertained. It works with other monster jam trucks. It doesn’t fit standard hot wheels cars though because the tracks are fixed for the larger truck wheels. I’d say about 1 out of 10 times the truck will actually clear the loop and continue running straight. The other times it will crash on the gap, or flip on the landing. The tracks slide forward and backward to increase or decrease the gap. The biggest downside is just that this is a large playset that doesn’t dissemble all that easily. If you do take it apart, it’s easy to misplace the pieces. I think my children already lost the center mast, but it doesn’t do anything anyway so not important. We have several of these Monster Jam sets hidden in pieces around our house and it’s more fun when you have different trucks to send through the loop. This set is more engaging than other sets we’ve had because the hand push actually works to propel the truck quite well. We have a smaller set where my children really have to slam the handle to get the truck to move at all and half the time it never gets out of the gate. In summary, this is a good play set for a Monster Jam fan to add to their collection. Just keep in mind it’s pretty bulky and will add some space to the toy chest or shelf in addition to having easily misplaced parts. ... show more

If you have a little monster truck enthusiast at home, the Loop of Doom Stunt Playset is a must-have! My boys absolutely love it, and I have to admit, I've had a blast playing with it too. The highlight of this playset is, without a doubt, the loop of doom. Watching the Megalodon monster truck zoom around the loop and perform gravity-defying stunts is thrilling every time. It's well-designed and sturdy, so you don't have to worry about it falling apart during play. Assembly was relatively easy, although some of the stickers were a bit tricky to apply. Once set up, though, it's been hours of entertainment. My only minor gripe is that the loop occasionally gets stuck if the truck isn't lined up perfectly, but it's easy enough to fix with a little adjustment. Overall, the Monster Jam Megalodon Loop of Doom Stunt Playset delivers on excitement and fun. It's a great addition to any Monster Jam fan's collection! ... show more

We love Monster Jam and monster trucks in general in my house, so I'm always excited when I see new toys and tracks for them! My kids always have so much fun, but the Megalodon Loop of Doom and its adjustable track made it more so! This track was easily put together by my 10 year old in a matter of minutes. There are three different levels of difficulty to choose from, which is great for children at different ages and skill levels. We love the exclusive Megalodon truck! Both our Monster Jam and Hotwheels brand trucks fit well on this track, but not all trucks have the same aerodynamics and there will be a learning curve with which trucks work the best. The media could not be loaded. This seemed like a fun toy for the grandkids, however, it didn’t keep their interest very long. It hardly ever made the loop no matter how we pressed the lever. We reread the instructions and it was assembled as instructed.
