I feel cheated by Monoprice. I bought these cables by Monoprice because of their stellar reputation but they are no better then cheap Chinese cables with their overrating anything electronic. These cables are marked 16ga but they are in fact 24ga. The connectors are heavy duty and very well made but when assembled with fake wiring they are worthless. Monoprice why are you still selling these fake cables a year later? I won't ask Amazon for a refund as I rebuilt the 3 cables with real rated Belkin wire. Anyone who trusts Monoprice after this is falling for a company that has no problem with fake products. ... show more

I concur with the other reviewers that point out that Monoprice is not truthful in representing these comprise 16ga awg wire. They are 24ga awg in a thick rubber sheath. Junk. They went back to Amazon.

    • Won't honor lifetime warranty

I purchased a pair of these Stage Right XLR cables a few years ago as backups and finally got around to needing them. One of the cables has issues shorting coming right out of the sealed packaging, which isn't a big deal since these kinds of things happen. Luckily, there's a lifetime warranty picture CLEAR AS DAY on the amazon product page for these cables. I reach out to Amazon over chat - they won't honor it and I need to contact Monoprice directly since it's their warranty. I reach out to Monoprice directly on their website - they won't honor it because it was fulfilled by Amazon and I need to contact amazon for the warranty replacement. I reach back out to Amazon and get the same answer as above. I'm sure now that there's a negative review on their product that there was this one point of contact that I happened to miss and I'm overreacting. Yeah, sure. Create a system that frustrates the buyer into giving up on trying to get a company to follow through on warranty claims and shift blame back on the buyer because they couldn't find a specific email contact for specific Amazon purchases for Monoprice. Yeah I know,the first thing that comes to your mind is,too expensive.Well when you purchase something that actually works and works as it should,these are reasonably priced.As for some buyer's complaining that these are not 16 gage,whatever the reason a misprint or a selling tatic,these have far larger and superior wire than most cables out there.I mean you don't need 10 gage wire on an XLR cable for Christ's sake,nor is it to be used as a towing cable!!! You could look long and hard and even pay $40.00 - 50.00 for other cables that will not work any better than these.Although keep in mind,different cables for different applications.These are well made from quality materials and I do recommend them... My monoprice cable came with 2 intermittent shorts at different locations. a simple continuity test from the multimeter gave me static when I flexed the cable. Turns out the grounding braided shield had loose copper strands which pierced the 2/3 lines.. These cables have nice strong quality connectors, but the cable quality itself is poor. ... show more

I didn’t cut my wire open or anything my mic is just low, no matter if I get super close and I can hear myself in the speakers and headphones, they record low on audacity and my livestreams. I needed a good short cord fast but I got the worst 2 out of 3 here. I’ve been spinning myself out trying to figure it out and switching mics I went and bought a usb mic that was astronomically more audible than my condenser mic (no I didn’t have it the wrong way, yes phantom power is on and gains are up). Don’t cheap out here it’s a trap the only reason I don’t ask for a refund is because I can’t go through the hassle of shipping it back ... show more
