    • A Simple Game That's Really Fun -- Even For Just 2 Players
I learned about Monopoly Deal from a story about Baltimore Orioles pitchers who were playing it in the clubhouse and how it's a popular game for baseball players. I'm not a big game-playing person, but it was a small investment, so what the heck. Many games don't translate well when it's just two players, but Monopoly Deal is an exception ... it's super fun! It moves fast, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand the rules, and there's just enough intrigue and strategy to be more than just a game of luck. It includes all the properties from the original board game so it has a nostalgic vibe which is nice. It also is the kind of game that can be fun for all age groups and there's just enough flexibility in the game so you can, if you want, adapt or change the rules. The cards are a bit smaller than a standard pack of playing cards and there are 110 cards in the set; so shuffling takes a little bit of practice. But, it's worth the effort. A great value for a super fun game. (And, I never thought I'd ever be giving a rave review about a card game, but the Baltimore Orioles pitchers are right. ... it's great!) ... show more

PRO: - portable, easy to bring on road trips, airplane rides, hotel rooms, waiting around for an hour or so, etc. - much faster to finish the game, unlike the classic Monopoly board game. Time passes quickly when playing. - simplified instructions on a Quick card, detailed instructions on longer sheet of paper. - different than the classic Monopoly game. Goal is to have 3 complete sets of properties first in order to win the game. CON: - lots of action cards. can be a challenge to remember the rules and restrictions of all the plays - having lots of money is irrelevant in the game, unlike the classic Monopoly board game. NOTE: if you're poor, you're likely to lose due to needing to pay various Action or Rent cards. if you're rich, you can still lose the game if your opponent acquires 3 complete sets of properties before you do. VERDICT: Great game because its portable, easy to learn, quick game play. Perfect for Monopoly lovers. Long story: my son is competitive with everything, including board games. His competitive nature makes it challenging to play games with him. His sister has already given up on playing any game with him because he can be such a sore loser. With each game finishing fast, my son either quickly wins or loses. If he loses, then he still has energy to win the next round, instead of investing in a long, arduous game that he could eventually lose. ... show more

    • Great fun game for family and friends.
This game is only loosely based on the Monopoly board game. One big difference, you can play a game in under 1/2 an hour. The box says 15 minutes, but most games go beyond that. It's easy to learn for all ages, and can be played at all levels, friendly, social or cut-throat. It's a great way go get those minor aggressions and grudges out of the way without incurring (too many) hard feelings. And it you lose, well you can play another and reverse the results in only a few minutes. The rules say no table take, but who does that and take a lot of the fun out of the game? ... show more

My grandson loves monopoly so I thought he would love this for his birthday. He loves card games. We have one that was for our daughters and it is easy to learn and makes the game fun and faster. Easy to pack for road trips and camping.

The kids and played this while we ate lunch every day of summer vacation. The games go fast with only two players. Three or four is ideal, but it’s fun either way. Games last between 10-15 minutes. Definitely strategy involved. Highly recommend!

Wow, starting out in this game was a little difficult because I kept trying to apply the rules from the regular monopoly game. After a few rounds things start to click and it made more sense. Give it a chance and you’ll have a hard time stopping! We play this game almost every night now and play multiple rounds. It’s a keeper in a game collectors stash! ... show more

I love how light and small this is so I carry this around in my bag so I have it with me almost at all times to play at cafes, picnics, car rides even. It’s easy to learn whether or not you have played monopoly before. Slightly strategy based game but mostly luck based.
