Description

"Why learn to manage my money? I'm just a teenager; I don't have much of it anyway."Sounds reasonable, but it's not. Think about this: The average American teenager spends $3,000 per year. At the end of high school, that means you'll have spent $21,000. Do you know where you're spending it? While $3,000 per year is most likely a lot less than your parents spend, you should still be able to: Pay fair prices for quality items Avoid being ripped off by misleading ads and salespeople Stay out of debt Save up for a car, college, or your own business Give money that will make a difference in the world Have money to do fun things with your friendsLarry Burkett and Todd Temple will show you how to take back the control of your money. You'll learn skills that will help you right now and prepare you for a successful financial future. Imagine what can happen when, as a teenager, you begin spending your money wisely. Read more

  • I love it!
I was given this book in high school and love it, even years later! I’ve used it to help friends, and I just bought a new one for my younger brother who’s about to turn 17 so he can prepare for the financial aspect of adulthood. It teaches about credit and debit, retirement, resumes, etc. I love it! 5 star! ... show more

  • Well written and easy to understand
Used this for personal finance for my homeschooled daughter and so far it has been very good. It breaks the sections down into understandable pieces of information. Also like the bigger print and worksheets

We added this to my son's homeschool curriculum. As part of a financial literacy course, this workbook gave him real life examples and projects that made the concepts stick!

  • Well organized
The book cover states the info in the book is for the 15-18 yr old bracket. However, I feel the content may be for the younger end of that bracket. My kids will use and enjoy the book, but I will supplement with other additional means of info. As to the book itself, it is well laid out and has great pictures. It is sure to capture the interest of teens. ... show more

  • Still a great book for teaching personal finance!
This is a great book for anyone looking to teach the basics of money and personal finance to teens. My two teens have enjoyed it, and learned a lot. I think many parents assume kids just learn about money on their own, but that’s not true. I didn’t realize how little they knew until we used this book and started talking about banks, loans, savings, and being a good steward of all that God gives us. At first I was a little worried about the age of the book, and that banking, etc. has changed, but that was not a problem. The basics haven’t changed at all. I highly recommend this book! ... show more
