I love the portability of these cahier journals and that they come in dot grid. I use them to take notes to be transferred to my Obsidian-based Zettelkasten (slip-box method) and for tasks to be added to my Getting Things Done system. One down side as mentioned by the others is that not all of the pages are perforated. It seems to be only half of the book. Not a huge problem for me, as I leave most pages in, but it can be inconvenient at times.

So this is small. Comparable to a credit card. But that's why I really like it. I dislike carrying large notebooks in my bag. Frankly it kills my shoulder. This is perfect. Light and reality sneaks into my bags, no matter what the size. Pages are all perforated but I haven't had issues with them tearing when I turn the pages.

my favorite sketchbook for casual observational drawing on the go. very light and thin which is good for carrying around without taking up space. pages are super smooth and comfortably thin as well, good for sketching in pencil, pen/fineliner, and some very light marker. cover bends and folds easily but it's not a big issue for me as I just use it for casual sketching and notes. I used to buy the 5.5"x8" ones until I found the smaller size which is perfect to take anywhere and do discreet observational drawing in public. I'd rate it 5 stars if it weren't as pricey for what it is

As someone sort of losing her memory, these pocket-sized Cahier Journals are the perfectly totable, passport-sized notebooks that serve as a sidecar for my brain. I can tuck one in my fanny pack and pinch it out during my walk to scribble down noticings and keep one in my purse for jotting down ideas, book/movie recommendations from others, and the occasional poem. The ruled lines are narrow, forcing me to write small, but each page has a generous 22 full lines (you can write seven Haiku!). While I’m not a list maker, I imagine this would be a perfect vessel for list-making enthusiasts. The paper is thin and yes, there’s a faint show-through if using a Bic. With a Flair, it’s a more prevalent show through, but I’m not bothered by it as it’s the cost of having such a wonderfully light journal to carry everywhere. The outer bindings of mine have curled at the corners, namely the cover’s bottom right hand corner, but that’s more because of my carelessness with sliding them into purse pockets, aforementioned fanny pack, and jean pockets. The paper is smooth when I rub it against my cheek. Just how I like it. The pocket on the back cover is perfect for receipts and fortunes from fortune cookies. As noted in the product description, the last sixteen pages are detachable, ideal for writing love notes to detach and slide under the windshield wiper of a lover’s car. Highly recommend this product.

While a bit more expensive than others, they work very well for notes you want to keep. Don't waste by using as a scratch pad. I prefer the grid format (vs ruled or blank). I carry the small one all the time. Last pages are perforated and are handy if you need to write something down to give away. Larger sizes are more of desk journals.
